personally it depends on the RPG you like whether being turn based or not etc. Sonata i agree looks good but i personally dont like it due to it being turn based.
But if you like that kinda thing then try that as well as looking at Blue Dragon, that game was produced by the same person who worked on final fantasy!
Oblivion is phenomenal, love that game. I have also been playing mass effect and that game is great as well. Buy a 360 and pick those both up and you will be happy for many many hours.
As much as I'm inclined to not help someone who uses the word "dope" in every sentence (j/k :P), here goes:
Mass Effect is excellent, but not turn-based. It's distinctly American also, so if you're more used to Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest then you'll find something very different here. This is more along the lines of KOTOR or Jade Empire.
Eternal Sonata seems good (haven't played much of it), but it's not turn-based. The story is silly, but the graphics are really good and it plays very well.
Blue Dragon is the only turn-based RPG I can really think of on this console that isn't complete garbage. The game isn't as good as, say, Dragon Quest 8 or Final Fantasy 7, but it's functional. It's not deep by any means, but giving your shadows all different kinds of powers is really cool... it's more for the old-school crowd who grew up on the turn-based level-grinders of the 80s (i.e. the early Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy games).
