Sign if your on your launch console.

Now personally I dont have a launch console but I have 2 friends that do, and they work perfectly fine. I was also getting sick of seeing topics like,"Oh im so afraid of buying a 360 because they all break", so basically if you want to buy a 360 then come here and look at all the people that are still on their first LAUNCH console.

Oh and Ive had mine for about a year and it works fine.

So, they should look here and since all people that will reply to this thread will be on their first you make the fear go away? It's still lying. People should take into consideration their console might die on them.

I agree that people shouldn't make the decision not to purchase an Xbox 360 because it might die, but it would still be recommended to just tell them to get extra warranty just in case. Ignoring the problem isn't going to help anyone. Except Microsoft offcourse. But since this is a user-board, I suggest we just keep an open mind about this and don't act like it doesn't exist.

to be honest i think its the core systems that seem to break alot

I wont say that the problem doesnt exist, but Im saying some of these stories are told to often, if people see alot of people still on their first 360 you dont think it will calm them downa little bit? Kind of like how they see 3 people a day saying how they have had thier 360 die on them and they get freaked out.Mikey289

If they get freaked out by it then that's their problem in my opinion. You can find articles on failure rate on the net that are official numbers. They should go by that and not by userboards where it is obvious you will only see 'death' threads and no 'it still lives' threads.

Nothing can happen anyway that's permanent. If something happens you can get it repaired for free and it takes around three weeks. If you have store warranty you can make the swap within a day. Only a wuss would get scared if he also knows about the warranty if you ask me.

I still think its nice to hear how many people have no problems with their 360, and I really do feel sorry for the peoples whos 360's have broken, but maybe the problem is the person and not the console some of the time?

since a lot of people do seem to worry here is the facts.

There was a 30% failure rate and Microsoft refused to believe there was a problem with the system.

A Belgium tv station did a research show that conformed there was a fault with the system!!

They presented their findings to the European union and Microsoft. eventually after much pressure from the eu who where already thinking of banning Microsoft sales in the eu because of a disagreement with windows vista. Microsoft publicly admitted there was a problem claiming that the disc drives where the problem. they replaced all drives for free if needed be however refused to pay for games that got damages because of the disc problem.

As for over heating Microsoft claim that the xbox 360 will not over heat once it has sufficient breathing space. However the new xbox 360 elite will have a stronger bigger fan.

i dont have one a launch system but my friend does so im siging for him... he also droped it and slamed it and it still works and yes im like "wow" too

My launch 360 died on my 6 months after I bought it, fixed it, failed again, fixed it, failed again. I bought a new one, because I got rid of the first one, and 8 months later, it works flawlessly :Ddanlher

I have a launch console that still runs (sept or aug) but it doesn't see that much use (believe it or not). Danlher why it the world would you buy another 360 after all those crapping out on you? Heck I would have switched to the ps3 or wii if that happened to me.
