Silent hill and dead island...

are my only hopes for the horror genre... PLEASE dont leeet me dowwwwn. :)

Meh I when I saw both being played I lost all hopes. Silent Hill will never be as good as the the first ones, and Dead Island didn't look appealing to me at all. People are gonne hate for that but the gameplay looks terrible maybe because I haven't seen enough of it but it looks bad. Play Amnesia on PC if you haven't yet, pretty much the scariest game ever made :P

I was actually planning on getting Amnesia soon. :D

But what makes dead island special to me is... its not a complete shooter, it had zombies, and has RPG elements. that makes me happy :)

Dead Island is not really a horror type game. It is a very fast paced game. It looks fun, just don't expect it to be that full of horror. Silent Hill would fall into this category though. If you want a game that will unsettle you, pick up Condemned. It is a launch title, but its still very good and the atmosphere is very creepy.

From the video's I've seen, Dead Island is not a very fast paced game, it's an open world zombie survival game with very few guns and a lot of melee combat and a stamina meter so you can just run like a mad man swinging wildly.

Yeah I found all the Dead Rising games to be missed opportunities, but Dead Island looks good. Its on the PC, but you should try Dead Frontier. Played it yesterday and its like a mix of Diablo and Left4Dead sorta. I've never actually played any Silent Hill games.

lol i wouldn't get my hopes up. Dead island is clearly not targeting horror but action and silent hill well the last one just wasn't very good. It over focused on combat (copying RE) and had a crappy story. I really wish i could say that the next SH will deliver but i cant. Chances are high that it will be mediocre at best.

I'm looking forward to both of these releases. I'll be buying both for sure.

im a lil sad that their going away from the "bloody industrial" setting in the new silent hill, but as long as its good ill be pleased

Looking forward to Silent Hill only. I like the series and will be picking up the most recent one when it comes out.

I'll definitely be waiting a couple of weeks after dead island drops to see the reviews and to buy it at a lower price.

i know what yous mean, the first trailer of dead island looked amazing and like someone said before, i thought it was a zombie game that i have been waiting for. but then seeing the gameplay, im still excited but just not a much. i love zombie games though so i cant pass it up.
