i'm a big Silent Hill fan but i feel as though the concept / storyline of the lastest two Silent Hill games (Silent Hill: Origins + Silent Hill Homecoming) are just bland.
Main character comes back from the war to search for his brother...in...silent hill. meh. I'm playing it just as being one of the fans.
From what I've heard this one won't be as good as the others. It's developed by different people.sammyjenkis898Heard from whom? A bunch of fanboys, or reviewers who have actually seen previews of the game? That makes a big difference. And I'm tired of the "different developer = will be a bad game" argument -- that doesn't follow at all.

I've heard it from many gamesites..

I never said it would be a bad game..
I am a horror fan but I've always considered the seiries immensely overrated.Since 1998 there has been no improvement in the games whatsoever, the same tiresome mechanics and out of place puzzles (I still remember the mess that was Silent Hill 2 - 1000 doors but only 5 working.Oh!And to get a key you have to take out the garbage...meh).Maybe when the game drops to 20 euros...
Graphics are kinda lame too...
I want it, but Silent Hill is going downhill lately. I'll still play it one way or another, but I'm not even expecting much at this point. It may go the way of Alone in the Dark.Mau-Justice
I think that the biggest enemy of AITD isn't the controls or the fact that it glitches for some ppl, but the damn reviews! If the reviews are good about a game then it will a blockbuster, if not then it will be like some many games...like AITD for example. I hope this game will live up to our expectations and not get consumed from the reviews. Hey, new dev team, do your best!

The funny part, some of those reviews also gave SH2 and SH3 "meh" scores. Silent Hill has never received widespread love when it comes to reviews, and that's a fact! Most people who have Silent Hill: Homecoming are EXTREMELY satisfied. I've seen it on Gamespot and GameTrailers. SH: H is in the same league as SH and SH2, but the combat system is much better, and not so craptastic. The fact that this was developed by Double Helix (The Collective) and not Team Silent, is truly a godsend, because SH4 was just bad.
I got it and it's freakin' awesome..I like the new controls..To me this game ranks up with SH2..
The music..the sound..the visuals..it's insane and quite disturbing, what more could you want????? Get it now!!!!
I picked it up yesterday at my local Gamestop. It was the last one so that must say something, it seems like people are buying it. I won't get around to it until I finish up Alone in the Dark (hopefully that will be this weekend).
The game looks great to me and from what I heard it controls better than ever. I can't wait to play it.
