Happy I am because that "war" was dark but also since it's under Gamespot lastest headline, I think most people are discussing this there. (=

Good. I have friends who have died over there and there are still soldiers fighting and dying every day. I don't care whether you agree with the wars (I personally do not), you have to respect the people who fight them. They didn't choose to go to Iraq, but they are there and the idea of any of us sitting in the safety of our homes playing a game like Six Days in Fallujah while there are people actually living it just seems wrong. I personally have seen enough death, anger, and injury out of these wars without a game to reinforce it. There will be a time, I'm sure, for Iraq-based war games, but for now let's not turn other people's current suffering into a money making vehicle. I, for one, applaud Konami for doing the right thing, even if it is a bit later than some would have liked.

This is bull crap! This is a story that needs to be told! US Miltary soldiers ASKED them to make this game. So what if some people are offended? I understand that many people have died and their families are still griefing, but this is a good way to tell the story of the dark days of unjust war and tyrany. This is a great idea. I support it 150%. Who's with me?

I personally think that this game wasn't going to be that bad. I don't understand why everyone is so offended that this game is being made. They say that soliders have died in this war and we should honor them by not playing it. Funny thing is how many people played Call Of Duty 1 and 2 and 3. This is based on WWII and alot of people died in that war. Oh and alot of people will say it has been a while since that war was fought. Well Call Of Duty 4 was bascially based in Iraq, even though it was a fictional battle. No one was whining about that game being made.

So I think that this game shouldn't have been dropped. I know plenty of people that have fought in the war, and some who have died. I am sad for the ones that I lost, but I still would have liked to have played this game.

The only reason people are complaining is so they can complain about something. They'd complain if this was a Hello Kitty game. It's just the unlimitied capacity of human stupidity and the will to complain that drives them. My someday the Lord free us from this containment and let us fly free.

You know alot of people fought and died in WWII and plenty of other wars throughout history, what makes them any more right to be turned into a game outside of the fact that most gamers have not been personally affected by it. What makes playing a fictional space war with Master Chief any better than playing this game, it is simply a fictional representation of wars that so many people have died in over the years. Toss in this game was instigated by Marines who served in Iraq, so if they who actually lived through this is ok with, I don't see a problem with it. And yeah my brother did a long tour over there so its not like I am completely disconnected from the thing. The Marines wanted their story told through a format that would reach the most people, telling them that they are wrong is telling them that the world is not interested in their story. So whose the bad guy, Konami for trying to help them or the general public sitting at home reading a story on the CNN website and deciding they don't like that?

Yeah, it's bull, there are Vietnam and WWII games out there, I think it is stupid that they backed out of it. Sure it will come with controversy, but they want the story to be told. hopefully a developer with more sense will pick this game up. I mean come on, you can murder thousands of innocent people in GTA 4 but THIS, a game based off a REAL event, is too offensive? It doesn't make sense to me. If it is politically incorrect to make this game and not GTA 4 I have no idea what is and isn't anymore.

Believe it or not there are actually some people out there like me who are disgusted that they eould even support a game like this in the first place.

The assault on Fallujah was a disgusting military action in which thousands of innocent civilians were slaughtered. Pretty much if someone could hold a gun then a marine had the ok to shoot.

And dont get me started on the use of white phosphorus (like napalm but worse) which is illegal to use by international law.

i know right, how could he be not ok with all that but he is ok with all the crime going on in liberty city and the sinking of jacinto. Oh wait thats right, because none of that is real. Six Days was meant to be as real as possible. They dropped it because it was considered tastless, which it is. It's not about peoples opinions at that point. How about we make a game where you live through a concentration camp during WW2, or as a Tabetin priest during the takeover by China. The Marines didnt ask for this game to be made and thats a load of cr@p for whoever keeps saying that. infact its Marines families who are the most disatisfied with the fact it was even being made, and they are the ones who deserve to be listened to. And to thoughs talking about COD, I know your not serious. You wouldnt seriously think an arcade style shooter that took battles and areas of Europe and LOOSELY made battles around WW2 battles would be anything similiair to this game. I refuse to believe any human brain could sink into that level of idiocracy.

Wait we can kill Nazis,Japanese,Russians,Vietnamese, and etc in battles that were real but for some reason this is tasteless? Now that is a double standard. If you find this offensive you should find all real wars offensive too or is it just because this is a newer war? So in what thirty years you will find it acceptable? Before someone gives me the whole "but the families" **** in thirty years their deaths will still hurt.

and light has been made..i mean ww2, what was that all about? i dont even know, did anyone died in there? but in iraq, yeah, that was a bloody mess, no disrespect, but this is BS! a war is one of the most stupid things humanity does or has been doing and until now, being shown in videogames, no problem here blah blah,.. then, a war that usa started cannot become "playable". lets just stick with the nazis, theyre not even people. plz...

Turning a war that is still going on into a means to entertain yourself and make money for a developer/publisher is wrong, period. WWI, WWII, and Vietnam are all behind us. It's different because people need to give wounds time to heal before they start exploiting the thing that caused them for money. The game can wait until the war is over and people have recovered from. You mentioned a good number of games already that portray war, whether real or ficitonal, in an entertaining fashion, so why don't you play them? If you want to "experience" what soldiers and Marines do in Iraq, join the Army or the Corps. But please don't try to equate the game to honoring anyone. It's just a way for you to entertain yourself and for Konami to make money. I'm glad the game was dropped. It can be picked up again when the war has ended and everyone has cooled down. Why inflame something as controversial as the Iraq war any more than it already has been?

No one complained when the movie "Black Hawk Down" was released right after 9/11 and during the Iraq war

Dude, you gotta admit. People are upset because the company that hosted this game is Japanese. If the producer was an American company, things would've been much easier.

I think it could have been the other way around. I could easily see people getting upset if it was an American developer. It could have been one sided from an American standpoint, but since it was a Japanese developer I could see them play the devils advocate. Who's to say they would have made America to be the hero? Maybe they would have shown that war is not all black and white as the media portrays it to be. Political correctness got in the way of the game, no one gave it a chance. A realistic modern warfare shooter would be the last game I would see Konami would have made. Sorry to see it go.

i still don't see how the US army can make a game with tax payer money as a form of requiretment with little to no opposition while a game developer wanting to tell the story of these soldiers in iraq are branded as oppurtunist and greedy. also its our right to express ourselves as long as we don't hurt others. instead of saying its offensive to soldier why not asking them what they think. the game didn't seem pro or anti war at all it just seemed like a war simulator type of game. which is the real sad thing because so many games we have are glorifying war and combat and this game was looking to actually gives players a look into what its actually like and it gets canned. personally i find alot of these so called miltary games to be far more offensive then 6 days in fallujah, since they all paint the same stereotypical simplistic rendition of the life of a soldier.

dont worry, another publisher will pick up the game and it will still be released, im sure there's a publisher out there that dont care about the controversy and with this game getting a lot of free publicity it would be dumb not to publish it, all you who say they are glad it's not being made well get sad again cuz it's still being made, konami just dropped it so it will get the whole "ghostbusters" treatment and prolly get picked up by Atari or somethin but i bet this game has a new publisher within the next 2 weeks and is released on time. and to all you who dont want this game to be made, why? they can make movies about the war in Iraq but not games? they can make 300 games about WW2 just because it was 70 years ago but cant make a game about this? apparently some of the soldiers who fought in the invasion of Fallujah think this game is a good idea, they helped make it as real as possible!

I think it was extremely dumb that they dropped it. Political correctness is the dumbest thing ever. Who cares, Marines WANTED the game to be made. They even said it in an interview, where is your proof that every damn single soldier will be offended by it. Oh wait, you have no proof, your just saying that because your all soft, liberal losers.

What would be the difference from playing 6DIF or watching Black Hawk Down. Such a double standard for games. I have a half a dozen friends in the military who fought and are still fighting in Iraq and they aren't whining about a video game like most bleeding heart liberals over here in their penthouses.

We did what we had to do. Also, this is a story that has been exaggerated and wide-spread as just a pointless massacre. People need to know the truth about this battle in Fallujah. It's a good thing to let people know the truth. The truth will set you free.

This game instantly came across as trying to cash in on the controversy, to me. Everything I have seen screams "generic military shooter". The first PR about it is the same old stuff, yeah we talked with soldiers and then jumps straight in to talking about how you can blow everything up in the game environment. The only difference being a major one, the game is based on real military events in the last 5 years that involved over a thousand deaths. Very very low in my opinion. Some day I would love to see something that really did justice to real war, and all the hardships that go with it. But this was most definitely not going to be that game.

The only reason people are complaining is so they can complain about something. They'd complain if this was a Hello Kitty game. It's just the unlimitied capacity of human stupidity and the will to complain that drives them. My someday the Lord free us from this containment and let us fly free.

We did what we had to do. Also, this is a story that has been exaggerated and wide-spread as just a pointless massacre. People need to know the truth about this battle in Fallujah. It's a good thing to let people know the truth. The truth will set you free.

so what is it we had to do and what is the truth exactly? What are the answers that people need to find out through a video game instead of a real source for information? If the Marines REALLY wanted their story told and not a check they'd right a book or something. Not try and make a disgracful act against a nation playable for the dumbdowned masses who dont have the courage to find out what its like over there for themselves. Any service man who wants this game made for that reason is a disgrace to their branch.

The publisher dropping it doesn't mean that the game won't come out. It's still in development. They only need a new publisher and I hope they will find one. I'm sick of hypocrites who happily play all World War shooters but whine about this game.

Good. I have friends who have died over there and there are still soldiers fighting and dying every day. I don't care whether you agree with the wars (I personally do not), you have to respect the people who fight them. They didn't choose to go to Iraq, but they are there . sixgears2

but they did choose to join the Army

Yeah you're right. Because someone signs up with the military (often out of a need for a job or education), their lives are meaningless and I shouldn't care what happens to them. I guess it's also true by your logic that anyone that dies or is injured in a car accident deserves no sympathy because they chose to drive and anyone who bites it in a plane crash deserved what they got because they chose to fly. Great reasoning.

Hey I bet alot of these people complaining about this game being made play GTA 4. I bet they have killed innocent people in that. But oh no that is fine! But when they make this game to be about a war we are in GOD NO we can't have it made. Again like I said before, Call of Duty 4 was basically like the Iraq War just with fictional characters and such. But that is ok, because it is quote unquote "fake".
