So I just downloaded the new Skate 2 demo last night. (it took forever because everyone was downloading it) I had high expectations for the demo because the last one was so great, but literally I played through the entire demo in like 10 minutes and I was only able to just skate around for about 6 minutes. Do not get me wrong though the demo was fun, but just wat too short.

I have written a full article on it here

Has anyone else played this demo and what do you think?

Yeah I thought it was short too -- but its still fun. I never owned the original Skate but I'm thinking of getting Skate 2.

Well it is just a demo, and seeing how much of the game is about exploring the city and free roam, if they gave you a big demo you wouldn't need to get the game. It is a bit short, but its only there to get people trying it and talking about it to build up a bit more interest before the launch in the next week or so. You can always replay it :)

I liked the original Skate, but this demo did nothing for me. No purchase from me.

Did the original skate have online play like in Skate 2, because if so why would you even want to buy a new game if everything is the same as the last game pretty much?

I do think the demo is a bit short. But its still amazing. I loved the first one and the second one just out does it with everything. I can't wait to upload some videos with all the new stuff in the game. I played it for like 3 hours last night just doing all kinds of crazy tricks. The new old school tricks kick ass.

They don't want you to get tired of it, I don't blame them. If it was an unlimited time demo do you know how much content you could get out of that one area.

I see both sides of this

yes i think the demo is way too short, even if i power through all challenges i still only get 8 minutes to play

then i have to go through the whole making the character and everything again.

but theres so many things to do in the demo so if it was unlimited gameplay then theyd lose sales

soo

whatever the game comes out in a week or so ill get it first day..

Skate had online but this game has a lot of little things that add up and make this a for sure buy for anyone who enjoyed Skate or never played it and like skateboarding games. I was moving stuff around and that alone makes me want to buy this game because you can set up your own trick lines and you can even make your own spot battles from stuff you set up. This game will rock, period!

yes, it's short but fun. i played it like 7 times in a row because it is so fun. i usually just complete the challenges then have fun with skateing around. i just learned from a friend how to do more tricks, that i didn't even know about. boneless, fastplant- left or right trigger and A botton. hand planets- right bumper and a righ stick for differnt plant on quarter/hafl pipe. hippy hop - X+ A.

lol its short, but looks awesome - the demo makers are trying to do this: give us a bit of gameplay (short) then were hungry for more, so we buy the game :( all a marketing scheme, but im happily going to take the bait :)

I was thinking of downloading it. But from reading all these views, I'll think otherwise. Instead, I'll just wait for the game to be released so I can enjoy the full experience,

I thought it was too short too, I would have loved unlimited free skate just at the demo park. I never owned Skate 1 but definately going to buy this one, it makes moves as simple as grinding a rail feel satisfying.

Demos aren't meant to be overly long. They're supposed to give you a taste so you actually want to go out and get the whole game. Having said that, once the demo is over and you still want to skate around, restart it!

WTF do you expect from a demo its not meant to be a 200 hour epic it's just meant to give you a tester of the full experience

If you do all the challenges and stuff quickly you can get about 8 and a half minutes free skate time at the end which is plenty. Overall the demo was great and I'm looking forward to when this game is finally out.
