Users usually rate the games they really like or the ones they really hate, so overall user ratings aren't to be taken so seriously, at least when it's about the scores (althought some reviews are really good)
I think the low score was mainly because of all the in-game advertising. Most GS review seem to take that as a real issue. I with them, that's just too much product placement in that game.

But none of the reviewers complained about how every car in RSV was a Dodge or that almost all the billboards in Mexico are of Dodge vehicles (both GRAW games). Or how about all the Burger King crap in FNR3? Why would it bother the so much now? Seems silly to lower a games score because of an over abundance of annoying marketing that can be found in most games nowadays.

I agree that whole we scored it lower becuase of this is BS, mention it sure but scored lower its not like it takes away from the game. I bought the game on its release day and love it sometimes GS just baffles me on there scores
if this is a 7.5, tony hawk should be a 4.5 This game is the best thing to happen to skating games ever. there negative awards are product placement? really? thats it? I can understand a steep learning curve, but all i've played is the demo and i have an excellent grasp of the controls and i am able to pull off any trick i want (within reason) sorry it can't be a button command GS, i personally like a little realism and challenge
Exactly, this game deserves at least 8.5 the controls are freakin sweet in the Demo.
I bought it today but i havent played it yet. prob will soon though and ill write my own review in a few days once ive played it for a while.
and who cares about marketing. the products displayed in the gameis FREAKIN SKATEBOARDING Companies!!! I like some of the shoes and shirts ive seen so far. id even buy them.

I barely every take users review seriousely. Okay you might think it is better then GS's opinion but I don't know how many users gave it a ten. IT IS NOT TEN MATERIAL. If it it was everyone woulde love it and everybody would forget Halo 3 and the gang.
I have never given a game a ten and it makes me angry seeing people pass them out so easily. I took a personal oath never to give a game a ten. However one day I hope a game forces me to break that oath but I can tell you right now, Skate is NOT it. Nor should any of yours.

What about whinning about a "low score"? Seriously, people. It's just a review score, focus on the whole review. If you don't give a poo about it, ignore that part of the review. Some games are given a bad score because their lack multiplayer options, unforgiven difficulty, too linear and simple plot, short single player campaingn, etc. Some aren't bothered by that, hell, some people even like that kinda stuff. So you can't expect the reviewer to weigh the positive and negative features the same way you do.
A few months ago I would have been surprised... but with the reviews that have been coming out recently I don't know what to expect anymore. Seems like they've lost their touch or something.

It's supposed to be a REALISTIC skateboarding game. REAL SKATEBOARDING has REAL BRANDS. If they would've given a higher rating for fake brands or no brands at all, then I've lost all faith in GS. And if you're with them then you're stupid because if I'm going to play a SIMULATION type of game then I want it as REAL as it can get.
First of all, once you resort to insulting you just lose your point. Second, the best selling simulation game (The Sims) has fake brands. Third, Have you actually read the review? If you have, take another look when you're in a better mood and you'll notice that problem isn't about the game having real brands of sport gear. I'm not bother by that ethier, actually I think it's great, it's a sports game, after all. It's about the way they are exposed. You don't have to agree but the reviewer is paid to express both facts and opinions.
This review is retarded.he can´t blame the game saying it´s hard, when he sucks hard. I have no problem pulling of the tricks I want, It´s just hard in the start. He complains about the advertising in the game ? Oh my god ! That actually just make the game more real actually. There are billboards in real life, isn´t it ? This guy has probably never skated before. I don´t really care though, because I skate, and I know that this game is the one I´ve always wanted.)
Though I don't agree with all of GS reviews, it's the personal opinion of the person who reviewed it. Skate is a good game but, it has it's flaws. Anyone comparing skate to TH is a moron. TH is arcade while skate is a so-so sim. I don't agree with the 7.5 review but in my opinion it's not better than an 8.
i really liked the skate demo it was fun to play and i kept just trying to hit the same lip and do a perfect flip trick and make it look cool on the landing.. if i had a 360 i would probly go buy it in a heart beat
