skate. is in my top 5 favorite games, so is the orange box. id have to say go with the orange box because with skate. once you beat it, its over. yes the is multiplayer, but skating games dont have fun online modes lol, which the orange box has team fortress 2 which is not only fun, but its funny also. it also has a large fan base so lots of people are playing it. also, the orange box comes with 5 amazing games for 60, so its something that is kinda hard to pick up. id say buy the orange box, and rent skate.
If you want the most value for your $60 then the Orange Box is the obvious choice. You get3 games and 2 expansions for the price of one normal 360 game.
It's a tough decision for me because I have never played a Half-Life game, but Team Fortress 2 just doesn't look that fun to me. But fell in love with the skate demo, and I like just freeskating.

I fell in love with theskate demo and wanted to buy it right away and then the orange box came out and for a while i had no idea what to get. So i decided to get skate since i already own alot of fps and i think i made the right decision because skate is FUN AS HELL!!

Lol, I was leaning towards skate because I thought I had enough FPS games as well!
But does skate really get that boring quickly? Because the demo sure didn't.
I love both, but buying skate would just be an honestly dumb decision, really. Skate is over pretty quickly, and free skating gets boring...but Orange Box lasts a looong, looong time. Team Fortress 2 is better than Halo 3 IMO, also.
I love Skate. I don't own The Orange Box. But I'm still going to go with The Orange Box. If only cause theres a lot more bang for ya buck. But do pick up Skate in the future, great game.

Look, if you dig skate, then buy skate. I have a feeling folk are going to be multi-playering on the Orange Box for ages and ages, so you may as well get skate, play the hell out of it, then get orange box when you have the spare cash. There'll still be people playing online, and Half Life 2 is a classic, so it's not like you won't enjoy it if you play it later rather than sooner.
I loved skate. i only had it for five days and had to trade it in for halo wich i regret(i like halo i just miss skate) but the orange box seems awesome i mean
I dunno why, I am still leaning towards skate. Maybe it's because I already have enough shooters, or that people told me that games would be boring before, but played them for months before I was satisfied (like Saints Row).
And I don't take your post seriously if you post "lol get oj box i dont no wat skat is but skating suks so lololllolloolol" or "skat cuz orang bux is dum"
Skate is not as great as its cracked up to be. The gameplay is not that fun, and this is comming from a person that prefers Thrasher: S&D over Tony Hawk. Get The Orange Box, its definitely worth the 60 bones.
How come the demo was so great? The only thing I didn't like about the gameplay is that some tricks are too close to each other on the analog stick, which only affects s.k.a.t.e. and video challenges.
I own both and it's a tough decision for sure... I would have to go with Skate though because it's so fun! If you like skateboard games at all then Skate is the game I would buy. The Orange Box is great but I really have TONS of fun with Skate.
i rented skate and it is one of the best games ive played. no, i havent played the orange box but i did beat HL2 on my computer a couple of months ago and it is also a great game. If u like skateboarding then obviously get skate but the orange box does have the 3 games and 2 episodes so thats a good deal. if anything you should get the orange box first and then get skate
