So I've gotten my friend a used copy of Bioshock for Christmas. It's sitting in my room now and he won't get it until Christmas obviously. Seeing as how it's used (and as I've never played Bioshock before) would it be silly of me to pass up playing this game? I've been told I shouldn't by some people but it's a used copy anyway so he won't really notice.

Exactly. He may do it to you but it probably isn't necessarily right to do it back. Just hold onto it n' wrap it up. :) Great Christmas present for him.

i'd buy my friend a new game, open it up, play it, then give it to him and tell em i got it used. sometimes i switch the price tags so it could appear more expensive.

You know what man, just wrap it up and give it to him. Once he plays it and finishes it ask him if you can borrow it. If he's a close bud I'm sure he won't mind, especially since you bought it for him.

I know my best friend has my Mass Effect right now... that jerk. :P

If you were my friend I wouldn't really care if you play the game before giving it to me or not.

I don't know. He's borrowed my Farcry 2 for ages and won't let me have it back until he's completed it. But he says he wants to complete Fallout 3 again first. I made a compromise of borrowing a different game off him (FIFA 09) but eeh.

DO IT, just make sure to install the game before playing just in case.

But be aware, he will see your gamerscore! you can always ask him to borrow the game once he's done with it.

Meh just try it out and then give it to him. If he asks just say you were "testing" it out to make sure it worked.

Play it. Why not? Like you said it's used anyways. It's one of the best games this gen. In fact, scratch that. Don't play it. Buy a 2nd copy for yourself. It's well worth owning.

Just ask your self this. How would you feel if you knew someone had played the game they had bought you for Christmas? Also, you better hope your friend dont see this thread lol

I don't understand all these answerers saying it is wrong. It is a USED copy of a game that YOU purchased. You can play it all you want. Why the heck would your friend care if the game is already used? It is not like you are putting it on the floor and jumping on it. You are playing one of the best games on the 360 and then passing it on to a friend as a gift. What is wrong with that?

I dont see how it defeats the purpose. I mean if a friend wanted to give me a free game i could care less if he played it! A free game is a free game.
