Sniper games?

Any good game's, similiar to Sniper Elite for xbox, xbox 360, ps2, or pc?i loved that game, but it's impossible to find. doesn't have to be WWII, it can be modern, vietnam, cold war, WWII, what ever. just looking for a realistic sniping game. thanks alot.

there sniping in almost every shooting game but a mostly sniping game would rock

isnt silent scope 1, 2, n 3 on ps2, that game was awesome

actually it is on the backwards compatible list, and you can buy sniper elite on ebay right now NEW for about $24

Umm sorry to bring up this point especially considering that I have no idea how old any of you are but maybe instead of hoping for a "realistic" sniper game. Maybe you could join the NRA and your local shooting range and target shoot for fun or join a rifle team and shoot for fun and competition. Just a thought.MrMurphy72

as much as i would love to do that,i'm only 16. so that's a bit impossible lol. i've gone shooting with my uncle numerous times, as well as airsofting and paintballing. but i would also like a game like this, especialy like the movie Shooter. and yes, Sniper Elite is backwards compatible for anyone who was asking. i just ordered it from Ebay, but i'm still hoping for a sequel. thanks to everyone who suggested ideas, and thanks to anyone else who suggests more. take care for now everyone. i'm off to play COD4 lol.

love the enthusiasm, but Halo 3, Gears, and Battlefield 2 aren't realistic sniping. that's just point and shoot. boom headshot. end. GRAW is a good choice, i've been playing the second alot. definetly has a great variety of rifles, and also the longer shots you have to wait a few seconds and wait four your breath to steady. pretty cool. i can't wait till i get Sniper Elite in the mail. 3 days tops hopefully! there isn't online co-op in it, is there?

lol yea i know, but it's just like...maybe i'm just watching too many movies. but for example, in Shooter, he has all the aim altering mechanics he has to go through, and it just seems like a fun idea. even so, i wouldn't even mind a game just based on sniping. not neccesarily with all the mechanics of wind and all, but just a game based on that. you know, like instaed of a game where you can be a sniper, or assault, etc.. it'd be cool to have more games solely focused on snipers. finding a good rooftop, watching, waiting, that's why Hitman games are fun as well. you can literaly change every level, just by making it a sniper game. maybe i'm just asking for too much, or something that a very small percenatage is interested in. but it's just something i like in games.

Sniping is actually no fun at all at least not outside of games. If you were to play a sniping game you first have to decide what school of sniping you are to follow. There are 2 different philosophies when it comes to military sniping. Eastern and Western. Western snipers US armed forced as an example use the one shot one kill concept. Which is why bolt action sniper rifles are the weapon of choice for their inherent accuracy. Eastern snipers are used more as a support to a unit. Eastern snipers are used basically to keep the enemy pinned down so that the squad can get into position. That is why Eastern snipers are armed typically with semi-automatic rifles Dragunov/ Ndm86/RomakIII. This is a general rule and Im not saying that the concepts arent interchangeable but more so of whats typical.

and thats propably a reason why their not making a new sniper only game

because it doesnt appeal to most of the crowd

I too would love a game based mainly on sniping, i always go a sniper in the shooting games i've played, like foley in the conflict series...

there just isn;t enough sniping games, or at least not many good looking sniper games!

I would love a good sniper game, lots of cover, buildings, lots of things to shoot from a distance, and a sniper rifle with an adjustable scope, so you can actually zoom in.. which i've noticed alot of the current shooting games, don't have on there snipers...

There arn't much games that are based specifically for sniping like sniper elite but as someone else said, Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2 have a lot of optional sniping.
