I enjoyed enchanted arms. Also, they tend to review more "in the here and now" imo, without regard to earlier reviews. That said, I don't come here for their reviews anymore. Oh, and from the demo, I didn't expect much from BD. It's too chunky. Eternal Sonata all the way. (7.5 or bust)
No it dosent these games have come out at different times and reviewed by different staff there not saying that im sure if the same person reviewd them all at the same time Blue dragon would do best.

Eternal Sonata has to be one of the most visualy stunning RPG's made,based onthe demo i am expecting ES to be in the 9's
Ever since they changed their rating system, the reviews have really sucked. I mean, 9.0 for Bioshock?.. give me a break. The only reason I come here now is for the forum.

All three of those games were reviewed by different people. GameSpot is not a Hive mind there individuals with individual opinion's. Also Enchanted Arms was release really early in the 360 life, expectations are higher now. Beside's at the end of the day it depends if you like the game or not. IGN gave God Hand a 3, and that's my favorite action game on the PS2.
i dont know men this game is gettin relly mixed reviews......i men IGN gave it a 7.9 game informer gave it a 9, gametrailers gave ti a 7.3, so the only way to find out is to play it yourself. but i did ex[ect gamespot to give it something higher.
ye gamespot gave bioshock 9.0 I like bioshoch and they say that forza 2 is beter ye I like forza but its not beter then bioshock also they said that rain bow six and tawf is beter then bioshock comon I have all of those games and I like bioshock like 50 times more then those games.

Good point. A 6.0 seems way too harsh. Especially when the average of 21 reviews at Gamerankings is 79%. (Which happens to be IGN's score, 7.9)
I think what happened is that the reviewer simply doesn't like JRPGs.
I think there was a lot of developer hype for this game (ala Daikatana) and it turned out to be very bland. After all, plot is a huge part of RPGs. However, I would agree that Blue Dragon probably got a bit low of a score on Gamespot.

THey look at it as at this piont in time a game like Enchanted arms deserves a....
And BD just didnt look as good as other games in its time. But I agree that it was rated low, I expected a bit higher.
Just ignore the score and read the damned review. Ignore the biased opionated content and focus on the facts about the game. Once you have ingested enough information, you should be able to make your own decisions. If you already know that you enjoy Blue Dragon, what does it matter if it gets a low review? People (reviewers are people) have differing opinions.
the only problem with ignoring numbers and reading the review is that it is completely biased to the point where the reviewer shouldnt have been allowed to do it, if you just dont like RPG's ur reviewing the wrong game. I personally think that the problem now is everyone hears RPG and thinks OMG OMG OMG GONNA GE AN FF KILLER cause its been a long time coming, but there is a reason FF is at the top.
I dont like Kevin Van Ord as a game reviewer, he seems to pick all the little things apart about the game and score the game lower then they should be. He looks at the bad more then the good. And while he does name good points you cant help but seem hes unbiased against the game. In fact ive never seen him really like a game he wasnt obsessed with,
He either really like the game a lot,or he rips it apart. That just what it seems like to me. Ive been wanting to get that off my chest and i didnt think blue dragon would of done that. The game is a simple basic rpg,its in the terms of Dragon warrior 8.And dragon warrior 8 was credited with being a fun simple game to play. I belive what gamespot should get people who like the games of genres and get a few different people to review it like in egm i belive. While sometimes i dont like the reviews or dont agree i like that three people love rpgs andwrite why they like or dont like the game.

Don't trust Gamespot for reviews. Other than Halo 3, which will probably get a 10 from these guys, no other game will get above a 9 this year. Trust me. I'm calling it right now. Bioshock only a 9? Yep, that's when I completely lost faith in this website for reviews.
You can't compare game prior and after the review switch. Like others said, if you really rely on reviews to decide if a game is good or not, then read the review and ignore the score.
Iam the biggest Phantasy Star fan in the world but all 3 of those games suck, plain and simple. It's okay to be a fan but you must still look at the product objectively. IMO all 3 of those games should get below a 5.0 because they are below average and should not have been made. Can't wait for Mass Effect a game you can buy and feel safe.
Well I really don't let the reviews affect my buying decisions, but still, a 6.0? What has GS come to expect from games? Not every game can be a Gears of War or Oblivion, but maybe they think that games should be just as good, and expect more from them? And those two RPGs came out less than a year ago, you can't say the standards have changed that much. Oh well, whatever. :P
6.0-6.5: Fair Games that earn 6-range ratings have certain good qualities but significant problems as well. These games may well be worth playing, but you should approach them with caution. gamespot
