So has anyone decided that....they aren't going to get Gears of War 2? *gasp*

Ok, now I played the first game a lot. I was the third person in the world to get 1250/1250. That being said, I'm just not hyped at all for the sequel. It's been so long since I've played a shooter online that I've come to enjoy not being ridiculed by pre-pubescent children who question my sexuality. I just don't think I want to deal with the community that Gears of War 2 is going to attract (racists, kids, idiots, and, most importantly, cheaters).

Anyone else not feel like getting it? If anything, I'd play it just to see what happens in the story, even though it probably won't be that good.

Me. I love Gears of War, but I'm just not that excited about the sequel. I plan on playing a couple of games I have lined up for my Wii and then I am going to play Oblivion as far into the foreseeable future as possible. After that I am going to get Fallout 3 and then Prototype whenever it comes out.

You can't let 12 year old kids ruin it for you. I would be amazed if they didn't put some type of mute in GeOW2. The single player is enough for me to buy the game. Yeah. I'm a huge RPG fan and there's a ton of them coming out around the same time Gears of War 2 does. There's Fable 2, Too Human, Fallout 3, Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, Sacred 2, Rise of the Argonauts. and Tales of Symphonia 2 (Wii).

I know but the mods around here are rediculous. I have gotten modded for saying things like h*ll, and one time someone said something stupid so I put a post with only a *rolling eyes* smiley and was modded for it. Its embarassing really..

It is this thought process of emo=rock that has lead to the degradation of this generation's music and is causing the slow and painful death of rock music. You want rock? Listen to Guns N' Roses, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Mötley Crüe, The Beatles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Skid Row, Metallica, Poison, Scorpions, Judas Priest, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, and more real rock artists.

To bring the topic back to Gears of War 2, I think Epic is going in the wrong direction. I hear they are adding some priestly Locust units and some spiritual Native American guru to the squad. That is pretty disappointing. On top of all of this, I am just sick of shooting games. So I'll take a pass on Gears of War 2.

I'm not buying it until I play it. I just decided I'd rent it first to make sure it doesn't get old quick like the first one then I'll buy it if it is really as good as it's hyped to be. Honestly, I'm not hyping it at all so if I don't enjoy it it's not because I was hoping it would be better then it really was.

System of A Down is not emo, emo is a nickname given to the whole pop-punk genre (Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, etc..). SOAD is not part of that. You complain that SOAD only uses basic power chords in their songs, but so do many of those bands you listed.

i was disappointed with the original, so i definitely won't be dropping the $$ for it right away...i'll probably give it a rent and use that to decide whether or not a purchase of the inevitable PC version will be worth it

I loved Gears 1's story mode. The campaign was a great 10 hours. But the online always had the worst crowd -- like you mentioned, it's full of foul-mouthed little kids singing nursery rhymes and quoting the Dave Chappelle Show.

And since Cliff B. has turned out to be an arrogant fratboy idiot in his interviews, I don't think I'll be giving him the pleasure of my $60 for what will likely be another 8-10 hour single player game.

I'll be getting it of course and if I don't want to hear idiots on XBL I have several options:

Talk to a friend in chat
Mute said people (either using possible in-game function or opening their gamercard)
Turn voice volume off using the 360 guide
Play with select friends you know (party mode being introduced)
Everytime you die, turn the volume down on your mic.

I didn't care for the first, and I don't really see the point of buying games again I just rent from GameFly (I also don't plan on renting it either).
