So has Microsoft told anyone what causes it?

What is breaking on all the systems that are causing the 3 red lights? Is it a certain chip? Its not overheating cause mine blew after 8 months....it was sitting cold, turned it on..wham..there were the 3 red lights. It has to be a certain flaw in the design somewhere...anyone know what it is?

Not a clue what it is, but i just joined the club today. In my 12 or so years of gaming i've never played such a poorly made/engineered console. I would like to know why almost ALL 360's break within a year!!!

I'm guessing they are hoping people will forget about it because they haven't said a single thing on it as far as I know. Noone will forget about it though as long as 360's keep breaking without physical damage. We must rebel!

This is insane. I just got off the phone with Xbox support because my 360 died a few minutes ago. I can't believe it. They make such a terrible product and they expect me to pay to repair it.

Completely insane. Not that i'm gonna run off and buy a PS3 but I will never touch anything by Microsoft again.

^or maybe you should have gotten an extended warranty, then you wouldn't have to pay to get it fixed.

And I bet you're on a PC right now that is running on Windows, a MS product. Guess you'll have to stop using your PC now since you'll "never touch any MS product again". Way to overreact.

Seeing how the same company that brought us Windows makes the 360, should anyone really be surprised?
