are these for "him" or for his dad? I'm kidding :Dimperial_agent
HAHA!Im Sure Ill Be Gettin Down On These Games With Him As Well:D
I recomend getting Halo 3 instead of Gears.OldProf
Ill probably get him both. But i was thinking maybe halo for his birthday which is only a couple weeks after x-mas
well thanks guys,my sons gonna have one hell of a x-mas(i know i would if i was him).but i think ill stick with those three and look into mass effect, halo 3 and assasins creed for his bday.i already own cod4 on another system....
How old is your 'son'? Those games are all hardcore and very bloody. Gears of War has an option to turn off extreme content (basically making it almost T rated), but the others don't (as far as I know).
Not trying to judge you or anything, but seriously these are not kids games by any means. Just thought you should know.
Yeah i'm with this guy.thats a good start, if he likes FPS, i highly reccomend Call of Duty 4.

I appreciate your concern, but my son is very mature for his age.He is well mannered and understands the difference between reality and a videogame.I was the same way growing up and my generations seen the likes of mortal kombat, doom and all the other games the media likes to give bad press to.
If you want to play with your son, Gears of War and Halo 3 have some great co-op. If you want to play deathmatches and the like with him, Call of Duty 4 has the best multiplayer.
actually i would definately pick bioshcok instead of massefect
BIOSHOCK IS GONNA BE GAME OF THE YEAR!
All these games are great however, If your giving your son online as well (or if hes planning to play online somewhere in the near future) I advise you to swap Gears of War for Call of Duty 4. Both games are great but I think the online community of cod4 is bigger since its newer and has a 'level-system' implemented.
Anyways, happy christmas everyone:)
I got a Xbox360[20GB] on friday (dec 21) for $250, used from my co-worker...
I have no games... just regular Xbox games that i took from my kid cousin (GTA: Vice City and San Andreas, Gun, and King of Fighters 2002/2003... GTA VC is the only one I tried out so far and it works, I don't know if the other games are also back-wards compatible)....
My first 360 game is either going to be Halo 3 or CoD4, because my friends has both and I want a good FPS...
aaahhh yes the good ol day of when i first got my 360....i opened the box then took the crispy new console outta the bag and smelled it...it smelled like hot women....i had perfect dark...call of duty 2...and wuake 4...man i loved that day.....i gamed my *** off...all in the christmas of 058)HellRazer360lol...QUAKE 4......oh and by the way since i got my 360 2 years ago in 05 i never had ONE problem with it since...

All the recommendations in this topic are great, as are what you got him. Enjoy, I mean hope he enjoys the gift :P
Anyways, I have to agree with the majority who recommended Halo 3 and/or CoD4.
I would also recommend picking up a battery charge station, an extra controller and 12 months of Xbox Live ... but that's really extra stuff.
Oh and uh, Merry Christmas.
hmmm, mixed opinions on gears. let me rephrase this, if i could get six games(three on x-mas and three on his b-day),does it really matter what 3 i buy 1st? i had my heart set on gears dead rising and bioshock(bioshock being my first pick) for x-masand i was considering halo 3,assasins creed and mass effect for his b-day(jan 21st).Another question is i bought the arcade model and am wondering if these games take up alot of space.Because if he cant at least save his games then i am going to get a hardrive too(I know that 256 meg memory card wont last too long anyhow).BTW I(We) Already own cod4..Dirty3rdTex
Don't have second thoughts about Gears. It's as good as Halo 3 easily but there are people that prefer Halo, and people that prefer GoW.
