I have had my 360 sinceJune of '06. Starting today I can play a game from disk or an arcade game. after about 10 minutes it freezes or the screen goes black. I purchased the Product Replacement Plan from best buy when I got it. I have called the 1-888 # to get an RA #.

I wanted to know if anyone has had to do the same and what kind of experience they had. How long did it take to process? Do they send you a gift card for the full amount?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Yea lol. How does that happen. Plus try calling 1(800) 4my-xbox. They will be able to help since you have not had your xbox for a year yet. All 360's have a 1 year factroy waranty through microsoft and they will send you a new xbox or fix the one you are having problems with for the low price of your time.

The same thing just happened to me.  It would freeze after about half an hour of playing for about 2 weeks.  Then the 3 red lights of death happened.  I'm not sure if thats whats wrong with yours but after 2 weeks my xbox died.  Call microsoft and get it fixed before you have to pay $140 like me.

Jeez, if it's dead just call Microsoft and be done with it. Please don't clutter up the forums with these useless "My 360 Died! What Do I Do Now?" -threads...

You should have your 360 back in about 2 weeks from the time you ship it to them.

Thank you... I mean this stuff is just out of hand. People don't use the stickied threads because there's never anyone posting in there, but if people would stop posting their own threads and post in the stickied thread, that would eliminate the problem, wouldn't it?

If you got the replacement plan take it back to Best Buy and get a brand new one. That is why you bought the protection plan right? Don't let them hassle you about getting it fixed through Microsoft. This goes for any piece of electronics you take back to BB. If you go to the service desk and they say that they have to send it to Microsoft for repair ask to speak to a manager immediatley. Explain to the manager that you purchased the protection plan under the explanation that if ANYTHING was wrong with the product that it would be replaced on the spot at no charge. Even if it is your fault. This has happened to me twice at BB. Once with a Sony receiver and once with a Sony TV. The service desk guy said that Sony required any defective products to be sent in for repair before replaced. That obviously conflicts with the Service Protection plan and the way it is sold. After speaking with the manager both times and simply explaining the situation both products were replaced on the spot. I even got a better receiver model since my old one was 2 years old and wasn't made anymore.

I must be extremely lucky. I've had my 360 since launch and I've had no problems at all.
