but I just dont have enough money to buy the premium one.

So my question is: do they still sell the Core package? I dont plan to play online In a long time, and I dont like downloading stuff.

do you guys recommend me to buy it?

and what are the differences from the others version, and the downsides?

Yes they still sell it, but just save up more money for the premium.

They still sell em I'm sure, but it's hard as HELL to find one...probably because they are coming out with the arcade version of the core...but downsides: it has a wired controller, no hard drive...I dont really recommend it because in the long run it will cost you more than the premium.

do NOT get a core. even if it means getting halo 3 a few weeks later, save for a premium. cores are awful.

yea don't get the core because it really isn't worth and u'll end up spending more in the long run..also they use the cheapest parts in the core and it'll more then likely burn out on ya

the biggest mistake you can make is buying the core. Seriously just save up a tiny bit more. You will understand why when you get your premium. The harddrive/gold memberships/not having to worry about having a harddrive/being able to save ur games

I wouldnt say that they use "cheap parts" on the core....unless you actually have the evidence to back it up.

I would agree that the core is NOT the way to go, considering M$ love of overpriced acessories......185 for 120 gig hdd??? come on

If you purchase the core, you may regret it later on. You'll save money in the long run by getting the premium or elite.

Keep in mind that the hard drive is used for caching and saving games. Games will load much faster with a hard drive. Not only that, but there many games in the future that require a hard drive. Just save a few more bucks for a premium.

Save for premium.

Just one example of the HD being used... The new Oblivion GOTY edition requires the second CD to be installed. The install requires 1146 MB to play and another 8MB to save a game. I know I'd regret not having an HD after purchasing this game.

You know, I really never thought that it could happen....but then again if there ever was a company that would sell you something, claiming it was all you needed, then required you to add something on it, that costs almost as much as your first purchase...it would be M$
