Mine broke about a week after getting it and downloading the updates. My second one has lasted me for awhile now, but I only put about 5hrs/month (at best) into it, so I just hope it can hold out when I put some serious gameplay into the upcoming games this year.

They will ask you for the serial of teh X360 confirm it's in warranty (which it will be) and they will UPS you a coffin (Box) for you to ship it back. The Box will be pre paid shipping I guess, just pack your console and send it back. As a note, just send in the console, dont send in anything else, no controlers, HDD, nothing. Just the plain console. If you send anything else, there is a great chance you will lose it.

5 hours a month? That better be because you don't have any games for it. If you're just paranoid about it breaking then wow...come on man, play it, and if it breaks, it breaks, its a free repair.
