Its Rainbow six vegas 2. He moved his console while it was playing and it scratched up the whole disc.

He got it yesterday, is there a warranty of some sort where he can get a new one?

Can he buy a replacement disc? how much?

ANY info is very useful, links will help too.

yes but it in the game manual it says that you can replace a broken disc by paying a fee for a "replacement disc".

i have done this before so it should work for you. Just tell your friend to go back to the store he got it at and tell them when he opened it up it came like this. I did it at best buy and they gave me a new copy of oblivion right away. It will work at best buy but im not sure about Ebgames or gamestop since they know about video games but its worth a try.

we got it from HMV, cause we are 15 and no one else would sell it to us. Would it work for them?

You will be lucky if it only screwed up that disc. If it damaged the drive then you have a bigger problem.

There is a replacement disc policy that some companies offer, but usually they cost far more than just the cost of a disc, and it ends up easier to just buy the game again. Learn the lesson never to move your console while playing.

Yeah one of my friends bumped my 360 while I was playing a game and the same thing happened. I believe he is pretty much screwed because that's user error. You can try what the person above said and take it back to the store and say you got it like that. You state that in the manual it said something about a replacement disk. Did they give a # to call or any other information. Seems like everything relating to that process should be in the manual as well.

i dont know what that store is but its worth a shot just go for it, make sure you have your reciept, just say like this

hi i just purchased this game yesterday (or whatever day) and i didnt get a chance to open it until this morning. i noticed these large circular scratchs on the disc and i would like to exchange this for another copy since im pretty sure this wont work. I dont want my money back im a loyal customer to this store and i would just like an exhange.

If they still dont threaten in a polite way that you are a loyal customer and that you have bought many items here and your buissness here will end and youll go to another store (sometimes that gets them).
