Theres probably isa small chance the ps3 just got a price cut but now since their conference is over and they said nothing about a new lower price just a crappy new halo sku I guess we will have to wait untill holiday 07 to see.

yea, i was hoping. oh well i huess i will just get my planned elite in about a week and try to keep it cool since no new chip date was released either

I cancelled my online order because I believed what the so called analyst said so now im pissed but oh well.

Im poor and can only afford one, plus it seems every multiplatform game runs better on xbox so no real draw for the ps3 right now. Ill get one in the future maybe next year or next price drop.
See, your all better now. No need to get all worked up. If I could only get one system right now it would be the 360. Luckly the Marine Corps pays well.
Why would MS need to drop the price? All three (now four) sku's are still cheaper than the ps3.
Dropping the price is pointless when you can still buy a core 360 for $200 cheaper than the competition.

It's referred to as "THE DAGGER IN THE BACK" Wii on 1 side X360 on the other then BAM right in the middle of the back a price drop to match Sony's price drop this would cost Sony to drop there price and loose big time on there PS3 it's the blu-ray that cost so much and it's not going down any time soon

Thats why it would be worth the lost money from the price drop for MS because it pretty much eliminate the PS3 from the gaming market and would leave MS to compete with Nintendo. I don't think Nintendo and MS are really going for the same market which would pretty much leave the 360 as the only choice for a "hardcore" gamer.
^^^360 is still the only choice for the hardcore gamer without the price drop though. A core 360 is still $200 cheaper than the competition!
From a business standpoint, MS is doing the right thing. The 3 year warrenty was just as good as a price drop anyway.

Your 110% wrong. Bringing up the core as proof that MS doesn't need a price drop is very stupid. If MS made price drop they would knock Sony out of the console race. At this point PS3 could have a big e3 and have lots of games coming in 08 and 09 and it could be in direct competition with the Elite 360 with is only 20 dollars cheaper than a PS3. If MS just lowered there Elite Price to 400 and lowered the Premium to 350 the PS3 wouldn't have a chance and all they'd have to worry about is Wii which like I said is going for casuals and 360 is going for hardcores.
People have this illusion that PS3 is dead and gone already but it hasn't even been out a year yet. Sony unleashes some exclusives and MS keeps it's head in it's ass about lowering the priceand before you know it the PS3 is moving up.

Just so you know, MS came out and said a few months ago that they were now making a profit on every 360 sold. So a price drop would do nothing more than to possibly bring them back to a negative profit margin, which they did for the consoles whole first year and a half. They most likely will drop the price when they start putting the 65nm chip on the shelves, as they will then be making even more profit per console. AND a Billion dollar lossquarterlyfor a corporation like Microsoft is like pocket change to them. They will make it up somewhere else down the line.
