So noisy...

I just got my 360 finally and noticed straight away how noisy the fans and stuff are.

Is there any way to reduce the noise cause its doing my head in already lol

Unfortunatly youre stuck. The next gen-consoles have loud fans (both 360 and PS3) you could always turn the volume up

I don't think its all that noisy. If its bothering you just turn your TV up.

Its not that bad, but your stuck with it.

I found the PS3 Very quiet in comparison.

Crank up the surround sound....you won't notice the fan noise at all

Or you could play your 360 from up 30 feet away! Thats the beauty of wireless conrollers!

Maybe give it some more ventilation...if that doesn't work, do what others suggest...CRANK THAT SH*T UP

don't sit right next to it or you will be annoyed by it,i personally put my 360 in a metal cupboard thing with my t.v. on top,i recommend you buy one,but make sure it has holes in the back..obviously :P

I have both and the PS3 fan noise is no where near that of the 360. It is much quieter.

Not true. My friend has the PS3 and it doesn't make any noise at all.

well the fans needs to be powerful and nunfortunatly noisy because the 360 has 3 core processers compared to the ps3s one and has 512mb of ram unlike the ps3s 256mb so its like a dodge viper compared to a robbin relant(660cc for those who didnt know)

The PS3 has seven SPEs, they're not full processors, they're essentially parallel math units. The PS3 has 512mb of RAM - 256mb system memory and 256mb video RAM. This IS NOT the PS3 forum. The reason the PS3 is quiet is because it uses huge heatsinks and make use of its rather large case design to allow a good deal of passive cooling. The reason the Xbox 360 is somewhat noisy comes down to using more active cooling - with a pair of fans moving air through the case. The loudest thing on either system is the disc drive, I've never found the fan noise to be an issue, but then I'm used to gaming PCs.

Actually PS3 is meant to be really quiet, its not the fans that make the noise its the DVD drive.

In January, I got a reburbed unit from MS to replace a 3 red light 360. I was shocked at how much quieter it was than my old one. It doesn't even have the new drive that they say is so quiet.

Its not that bad, but your stuck with it.

I found the PS3 Very quiet in comparison.

Not true. As soon as I turn on my 360 without a game in the DVD drive it's extremely loud.
