720p is fine, I heard you hardly notice the difference anyway.

You would be doing better with 720p...after all this is what the Xbox 360 puts out natively anyway.

If your TV supports VGA for PC and a VGA resolution equivalent to 1080p then you could buy the VGA cables and display at 1080p. I also knowthat a lot of 1080p TVs upscale to compensate for lower HD resolutions of other components.

Is there any difference in the way VGA and HDMI display 1080p? Does HDMI or VGAdisplay better? Just want to know since I'm probably going to by a pc monitor instead of a HDTV.

I am running 1080P over HDMI on my new Elite. It is AWESOME! It blows all other settings away. Save your pennies..

You would be doing better with 720p...after all this is what the Xbox 360 puts out natively anyway. fore_runner

And all the games are set to 720p nr.

That's not true.. Some games are 1080P native: Ex: Lost Planet. There are other ones too, I just don't know off hand. The 360 will upscale any game to 1080P over VGA or HDMI. If you HDTV supports 1080P.

1080p is hardly noticeable on a screen below 50" (so the generalization says).
