This is a quote from the 1996 film Cable Guy:

The future is now! Soon every American home will integrate their television, phone and computer. You'll be able to visit the Louvre on one channel, or watch female wrestling on another. You can do your shopping at home, or play Mortal Kombat with a friend from Vietnam! There's no end to the possibilities!

- - -

What I'm saying is, I doubt that anyone back in those days could have thought something like Milo or Project Natal could have been thought up or invented less than 15 years later. Plus, everything in that statement has already happened or is capable now. So if Project Natal does revolutionise how we play games (or at least some games) then what? How will technology be advanced even further? In terms of video games at least.

On a side note, if you haven't seen Cable Guy then you should.

Hopefully some Matrix style video game systems. Actually stomping in a zombie's head... Priceless!

That would be awesome. Just convert humans into megabytes, pixels and electrical bits and we can just jump into whatever game we want lol.

Your brain outputs electrical signals to your limbs and recieves them in the form of the sense of touch just like a computer and it's peripherals. All you have to do is intercept your brain's signals, connect them to a program of the proper design, and voila, true virtual reality.

It could probably be made to respawn you and make you pass out instead of dying when your vitals get too intense.

Will we ever get something like this?

Basically, in the future... Games are just drugs.
