You played the beta? Go play it and then you'll see why many people like me are hyping it to the GOTY level. It prolli ain't going to beat out Halo 3 but it's a contender.
So its shaping up to be good then, but IMO not great. Its nothing really new and I was hoping for more of a BF2 type of multiplayer to really bring out the tactics etc, but without vehicles and sub 64 player servers this isnt anything we havent already played.
Just look at what Bungie are packaging into H3 multiplayer to try and keep the standard multiplayer game fun and have longevity. This shows what needs to be put into a game to keep it 'new' and I dont tink CoD4 does it enough going off the Beta.
Oh and no vehicles is a big dissapiontment for me.
Still be a good game though, and I reckon the campaign will rock.

i've played the beta, and to me it's nothing new really. It's same ol' COD gameplay in modern times with a rank system. Nothing really 'revolutionary' or GOTY worthy IMO I'm not saying that it's not a fun game, but I'm with the TC and don't see why there's so much hype behind it

The same could be said for Halo; nothing really new, it's not revolutionary at all, same old boring Halo game-play and the graphics aren't much better, but still it's been hyped up beyond belief, if Halo 3 wins GOTY then the fanboys have won.

It might not be the first game to have a thing like SaveFilm, but all the capabilities of it being on a console just amazes me because most the time you can only do that stuff on PC. And I think Forge will keep the game ever changing, so you won't see people using the same stuff everytime, and once again having the ability to do all of that on a console amazes me. The great thing of Halo3 (IMO, and no I wasn't a fan of Halo1 or 2) is all the stuff you can do with it, I used to be a PC gamer until I got my 360 and it was always one thing that I missed. Another great thing of SaveFilm is that you can do it all in-game, even on pc most the time you have to download some third-party program to do it. The whole video editing and posting on Skate has worked great and I think it's made the community better for that game, I can't imagine what it will do and be like with Halo 3

Anyway, yea cod4 looks like its gunna be a GOTY contender. Halo 3? Will not be game of the year.
I am in the Beta and the multiplayer really is not all that special. The Customization is alright I guess, but it is not on the level that I thought it was going to be. I am more excited about the single player myself, but if anything the Beta has made me want to get the game less. I am still on the fence though about picking it up when it is released.
