When you are signing up for live, sign up and when it asks you what kind of membership you want, pick silver. Then it will ask you are you sure and when you say yes then a screen should pop up saying something like this....
You qualify for a free one month xbox live gold trial and then you just click on that. My friend and I had 3 of these 1 months on our 360's each but you could only use them separatley.
If you sign up on microsofts xbox live site on the computer you will NOT get the free month. If you sign up using the xbox and pick silver when it ask you what type of account you want you will get the month free. Also you can only use 1 email address for one account so if you want to make a new account you need a new email.
you need to create an account and dont enter any codes in when it asks what subscription u want and unless you have used them all up it will give you a 1 month free trial
