So which of these pre-order bonuses sounds better for RDR?

There are like 3 places in the USA that I know of that have pre-order bonuses, and those are listed below.
I can't decide on which one to pre-order from.

- Amazon has the "Golden Guns Weapon Pack". Which gives more "Fame" per kill, so you gain fame faster and fame gains you access to in-game side missions.

- Best Buy has the "War Horse". A steed that Rockstar claims can't be bested by any other horse in the game. There are countless horses to be found in the massive world of Red Dead Redemption, but none is stronger, faster or tougher.

- Gamestop has "The Deadly Assassin Outfit". Which causes your Dead Eye meter to regenerate at twice the speed. With more Dead Eye, you have more time to place each shot with total accuracy, making you the deadliest gunslinger in any fight.

So which one to you sounds better and/or which one are you getting if you pre-order?

After playing it the horse thing doesn't seem that great

The horses in this are like the cars in GTA, there's always going to be the top level horses that will do the best just like there's top level cars that do the best. Also in this game you're going to do missions that take you away from the horse. I did one mission that takes you across a town and then you have to keep going so what are you going to do? Do the mission then double back to get the horse then go ahead?

I'd say get the gun that allows the most side missions to open up the fastest.

I never thought about it like that. Dead Eye sounds like something I won't be using very often. I still feel as if I'm getting the worse of the three.

You don't get everything? This is what I'll get with my pre-order.

Limited Edition contains:
Red Dead Redemption game
The Deadly Assassin Outfit: John Marston's "Deadly Assassin" outfit causes your Dead Eye meter to regenerate at twice the speed. With more Dead Eye, you have more time to place each shot with total accuracy, making you the deadliest gunslinger in any fight.
The War Horse: There are countless horses to be found in the massive world of Red Dead Redemption, but none is stronger, faster or tougher than the exclusive War Horse. Whether storming gang hideouts, exploring the wilderness for hidden treasure, or outrunning the law, the War Horse gives gunslingers an advantage in nearly every situation.
The Golden Guns Weapon Pack: The player who wields the exclusive Golden Guns receives more Fame for each kill. The more Fame you get, the more in-game side missions become available. So there will be more opportunities to duel, more kidnapped townsfolk to rescue and you can bribe lawmen for less.
Red Dead Redemption Originally Scored Soundtrack.

Sure, it's the Limited Edition, but it's the only one available and it's priced as a regular edition. If I had to choose one, I guess I'd go with The Guns.

As I already explained the horse is useless

Try playing a GTA with only one car, it'll get annoying quick

The bullet time is a good one as well because that's a fun mechanic for the game

The gold weapons open up the most amount of missions faster, I'm good with the only bonus that gives me the most content the fastest

Judging by each description.. I'd go with Gamestop's Assassin Outfit. It will make your gameplay experience a lot more dynamic and fun.

The War Horse sounds great and all but if you have the best horse.. why bother even searching for other steeds? That eliminates another gameplay experience you could have had. I say, no to War Horse and search for your own steed, that suits your personality and gameplay.

The Golden Guns doesn't soundso good. Thisone sounds fishy.. Increase fame to get more side missions.. Can't you do that without the Golden Guns? It might take longer without the Fame Boost, but in the end, it's more rewarding and it increases the game's length.

My Verdict: Gamestop's Assassin's Outfit. It looks extremely satisfying to bust multiple shots at an enemy with pinpoint accuracy.

- Amazon has the "Golden Guns Weapon Pack". Which gives more "Fame" per kill, so you gain fame faster and fame gains you access to in-game side missions.

Honestly? That's lame. They make it sound as though its a chore to play the game. "Pre-order here, and you can bypass all the game-length increasing boring parts and get to the fun stuff!". Not a good way to market a videogame. The game looks fun enough, and if anything, I'll personally be having enough fun playing the game at the normal speed without focussing on unlocking the next side mission. Those will come as I have fun, not as I constantly grind to get to them.

- Best Buy has the "War Horse". A steed that Rockstar claims can't be bested by any other horse in the game. There are countless horses to be found in the massive world of Red Dead Redemption, but none is stronger, faster or tougher.

Not that cool, but its better than the other options by far. This one actually seems to change the gameplay.

- Gamestop has "The Deadly Assassin Outfit". Which causes your Dead Eye meter to regenerate at twice the speed. With more Dead Eye, you have more time to place each shot with total accuracy, making you the deadliest gunslinger in any fight.

Meh, something to make the game easiar? I'm happy playing the game the way it was meant to be played, not with a pseudo-cheat option.

I actually live in Sweden. Pre-ordered it from a website called Webhallen. Good thing I don't have to choose between the bonuses. :)

I decided to pre-order at Gamestop, because the "The Deadly Assassin Outfit" seemed better then the other two.

After much thought this is my opinion on the the pre-order bonuses:

- The "Golden Guns Weapon Pack" from Amazon seems cool which gives you more "Fame" to get side missions faster, but I have always hated guns that look gold in games because they look really stupid and just so unnatural in a game.

- The "War Horse" from Best Buy is said to be the best horse in the game, but in the game that is this large and has alot of horses I don't mind looking for different ones like I did in The Elder Scrolls Oblivion.

- "The Deadly Assassin Outfit" from Gamestop seems to be the best choice atleast to me it does, because the sound of being the deadliest and fastest gunslinger in the west just sounds really cool.

I'd say the assassins outfit sounds best to me. But I ordered it from zavvi.co.uk when they had 10% off and they just comes with a game guide, not bothered enough to cancel and pay more money for any of the other bonuses though.

For those in the UK:

Amazon.co.uk - Golden guns

HMV - War horse

Game.co.uk - Assassins outfit
