So why are Gears and R6V such bitter rivals?

Both sides talk up the XBL aspects of the game, and since both are quite popular, that spawns the debate... I happen to think RSV is much better, myself ;)

because both have large communities, so there is competetion between which game is best...

imo I think R6V is the better multiplayer game by far. GOW was just small, repetetive, and extremely glitchy and full of problems. There are those enjoy it and play it all the time, but I never got into it. I don't mean to bash GOW I will never sell it, it's a great game, but I never really had much fun online.

I agree GOW doesn't have a great amount of depth and gets very boring.

agreed i like rainbow six vegas because it has more maps and fun modes and also no bullet lag no host advantage. but gears is very fun too just not as much offered.

Gears of War is pretty overrated IMO.It lacks the depth of R6V and GRAW 2, and lacks the intensity of Halo 2 and Call of Duty 3.jimmygrace

Because not only are they easily comparable at the moment. People are still mad that R6V beat gears for best multi of the year. I play both and go in spurts in both and find Vegas to have much more things to do online which easily give it the better multi ,but something about gears makes you come back to it despite it lack on gametypes and other things. BTW something about the new 6 gears maps just don't feel right.

Gow's single player was some of the greatest **** ever, but there was a great deal of real **** in the multiplayer.. and it got a little boring after a few weeks, it was very repetitive. But Gow's still better :p

I like both games but I enjoy R6 more than GeoW. To me R6 is more challenging, it involves tactical thinking (I can spend quite a while deciding how to enter a room filled 4+ enemies). I like realistic weapons more than fictional ones and it has a far larger selection of weapons.

I like that I can tell my retarded teammates where to position themselves and whether to breach a door or just flash bang the room. In GeoW I cannot control my retarded teammates which causes me more hassle having to revive them or them getting in my view ruining my shots.

I like how you take cover using a seperate button from my action button to take cover in R6. I can take cover and move around so much faster and elegantly than I can in GeoW.

I have more fun with R6's ranks and weapon/equipment upgrades you can earn in mulitplayer, plus character customization. I am also decent at R6 online. I suck horrible at GeoW online.

EDIT: I enjoyed GeoW's single player but R6 evokes a little more attachment to the story from me. Whenever a hostage situation comes in in R6 I try my hardest to perform the rescues flawlessly. Again the planning involved with breaching a room plays a big role in my enjoyment of R6 and when it is done flawlessly I get a small warm fuzzy feeling. I never really got the same rush from GeoW. But really, the single player experiences are trying to do different things from both games.

Gears is fun and nice to look at but R6V is much more fun online. I can't stand that I can empty two clips into my enemy and barely hurt him. I understand that Gears is fantasy and R6V is realistic but I'll take R6V over Gears anyday.

P.S. I just recently traded Gears for R6V with my friend.:D
