I bought my 360 off Ebay a couple of weeks ago and it has been working great! I wouldn't say ebay is a "safe bet" but if you know what you are doing, it is easy to get a great deal on working items. I see he offers Square Trade warrenties. I would suggest getting one, incase the 360 fails in anyway (so you wont be out your 180 bucks). If you wait a week or so, Square Trade should offer you a 10% discount on the warrenty.

Only buy from eBay if you're an experienced eBayer.

I've bought and sold consoles more than 6 times on eBay, with no bad consequences...until now.

The 360 I bought hasn't come in the mail, despite it being nearly 10 days after I paid. The seller doesn't e-mail me back. I filed a claim with PayPal and I'm now waiting for them to decide the outcome.

Only buy from those with high feedback ratings, hopefully ENTIRELY positive.

I wouldn't have bought from that auction.

Not only because I prefer my consoles new, but because they being pulled "RANDOMLY" from a pile of 360s.

The fact that these don't have HDMI ports means that they don't have the new Falcon chipset. That means your console is much more likely to RRoD.

And no HDMI Ports = FTL, epic fail. That means you wont be able to use it with an HDTV unless you buy the piece of crap HDMI converter... There are a ton of premium edition 360's with hdmi ports going for $230... Why on earth would you buy an Xbox 360 without an HDMI port? Even if you dont have an HDTV right now, you are bound to buy one sooner or later. WORST DEAL in the century. Find a way to return it and get your money back. Hurry, before he ships that piece of junk metal.

Wrong, you don't NEED HDMI to use a 360 on an HDTV. You can use the component cables that it comes with. Granted, it will not be quite as sharp as HDMI, but it's a fine alternative. Some will even say that they can't really see the difference.

yes, if the buyer has good feedpack. my friend bought his 360 off ebay it seemed good.

the only thing though is that the person just put a label on the box (shipping, fedex who ever shiped it) the box is all torn and such from shipping it could have been stolen, broken from weight on the 360.

u dont' need the HDMI to play it. it has different colored things still looks good.

you won't need the HDMI for a TV of that size. As for getting it off eBay, I got Condemned off of it, and my 360 couldn't pick up the disc, so the person i bought it from sent me another one which worked.

I've heard that people on ebay just sell their systems that already have the Rrod. Maybe that's why it's so cheap.

I bought my exbox elite from ebay and not a single problem with it at all. The trick to buying from ebay is make sure it says new and in packaging... that way you arent buying a used one, or one that was fixed by MS and is likely to get RROD again.

CORRECTION:

Seller just issued me a refund. Still waiting for the refund to clear.

I'm already bidding on another Pro (new and sealed, of course, with the Falcon chipset). The seller lives 30 miles from my house, too. If something goes wrong, I show up at his house with cops.

But, if God wills it, I'll have my new 360 on Tuesday. Pray for me, guys.
