It all started when my friend was playing my GTH2 it made a loud scary noise then froze with fuzzy dots all over the screen. I restarted the Xbox and it did the same thing. A couple days later I put in Oblivion and it did it again. It has been making funny noises but I've never had a problem with my xbox before. I have a warranty but i don't want to lose my game saves or Xbox live profile ( I forgot my password and email :(.... ) So if someone could help I would appreciate it.

You won't lose anything, you have to remove the hard drive before you send it back to get repaired/replaced. And your gametag gets saved server side at Microsoft.

Well, you'll have to not take it back, and call 1-800-4MYXBOX. That's the only way that you won't lose anything. If you take it back tp TRU you'll be able to get your gamerscore back, but you'll lose your saves.

Its funny, All my friends and family made fun of me and thought that I was stupid for buying the 2 year warranty. I believe they called me paranoid. Well now its in their faces. 4 months after i bought it, it broke just like i thought it would.

the girl i talked to said if it happens again they will send me a new HDD, cause i have that 1 year warranty that MS gave.

so thats good news, i just hope it is the HDD, cause im gettin that new 120GB beast when it comes out.
