Sonic Unleashed--Gamespot and IGN are incapbale of offering a fair review.

It's official: we've gotten to the point where the major reviewers like IGN and Gamespot just see the word Sonic in the title and instantly hate any game from Sega about their flagship blue mascot. Sure there is good reason to be skeptical of Sonic games thanks to Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06, but the bias has permeated for so long that the speedster can't get a fair review anymore. TSSZ reported that the IGN reviewer Hil Goldstein didn't even finish a quarter of Sonic Unleashed before giving it a 4/10 and Gamespot gave Unleashed a worse score—3.5 vs. 4.4—than the garbage that was Sonic 06.

At least Game Informer breaks games down honestly and fairly but IGN and Gamespot reviews are totally biased. Their reviewers are unethical for not finishing games before writing their reviews. How could this game possibly score so low when the rest of the reviewing community—just the one that Gamespot acknowledges, mind you—give it a 6.4 and their own members give it an average of 8.0?

Quit drinking haterade for no reason and grade games fairly, Gamespot. You've always graded too harshly but this is ridiculous. At this point I will be hard-pressed to ever trust one of your reviews again.

Stopped carrign about reviews after Lost Odyssey and Last Remnant got such low reviews, yet they are two of my fav rpgs/games this gen.kozzy1234

I have to agree i tried Last remnant at my friends after you praised it so much and it's amazing. Getting it for christmas and i can't wait.

Here's the thing. It's a bad game. The actual sonic parts are amazing, but being that those parts last 5 minutes and the werehog crap lasts 25 minutes and is 70% of the game, the negatives outway the positives.

When did sega say to themselves that a game of nothing but sonic running really fast isn't fun anymore.

I wish people would stop moaning about reviews. It's the reviewers personal opinion, so there is always going to be an element of bias. If you like it, then play it, and stop worrying what other people think about it.kamikaze_pigmy

guys, the problem with any sonic review you see is this: Sonic has never again lived up to the precedent it sent for itself on the genesis. sonic the hedgehog was the first game i ever owened for my genesis, and it still is one of my favorites. the reviewers not only are looking back on these golden days and sonic, sad that the series can't re-achievethat level of greatness. also, they are fed up because, despite bad reviews for every sonic game since Sonic Adventure back on dreamcast, the developers refuse to change anything. sure, you can try a new gimic, like the werehog thing or guns like in shadow the hedgehog, but when you don't fix the game mechanics that were flawed in the first place, the game is just as bad, if not worse then the previous since nothing has changed, despite the fact that it's been asked for.

i think the reviewers have just gotten to the point where their tired of restating the problems, and are just going to give these games lower, and lower scores until they get something right again. i'm sorry, but if you truly think that the reviews for unleashed were unfare, you yourself have to be harboring bias FOR the game. after all TC, your gamerpic is sonic!

And Duke is right. A reviewer must put aside their feeling when reviewing a game and be fair. If a game they are reviewing is their favorite ever but has heaps of glitches they have to put their feeling aside and count that against the game. Or say a game has alot of hype, the reviewer must not let that cloud their judgment, but instead review the game based on it's merits rather than be an idiot and be angry just because the game has lots of advertisements.

In other words, be unbaised.

Gamespot's Reviewing Brain functions as such.

I mean Gamespot gave Grand Theft Auto IV a 10/10. Think about that for a minute and then come back to me.

We have two problems here I guess.

1. Werehog parts in SU. I do like those parts actually. It reminds me Ristar, Tomb Raider lol, whatever else. And yes I am patient enough to retry the failed jump in werehog stage, not running and whining about 'so hard how come!!'. Still, I'd prefer day stages myself.

2. Marioboy reviewer? Really, SU got a lower score than first X360\PS3 Sonic. How can this be? Mario involved, I swear! Or just wrong person to review.

Overall: there is no point in that GS SU review at all. People who plays this game scores it 7-9. Meanwhile some nerd giving it 3.5 out letting us to think that's official GS opinion. Thus blowing away some casual gamers who may had fun of this game but won't buy it anymore.

Gamespot, wake up already. Don't let to review Sega games (any games) by nintendoboys, lol. Nor segaboys, though. Just by someone who plays various games, not FPS or strategies only, etc. Or by someone posessing casual gamer vision.

I love the Sonic Adventure series... that new SONIC THE HEDGEHOG with that new guy Silver... got me angry, I just didn't see the need for another hedgehog character... Shadow was enough for new sonic counter-part and we already have Knuckles for the bad-a$$ guy... ugh...

I was looking forward to Sonic Unleashed, but man that review is throwing me off... I'll probably rent it...
