you don't get a very good look at it, basicly you can make out some eyes a nose and a couple scars. besides it looks so low res compared to the rest of the models in the game that it can't be any real indication of weather or not we will see his face come sept 25th.
Why the obsession with his face? I never needed to know what Darth Vader looked like under the mask; I just knew that he was bad@$$. Same thing with the chief. I like the air of mystery about it.

well the spartan's skin hasn't touched the son light for quite a while now. they said he looked like a ghostly pale white. and it was dark in there because it was inside his helmet. :P
Does anyone remember a part in the Halo 3 E3 trailer where you can see he has white eyes through his helmet? Bungie debunked it at the time, and said it's just a reflection, but this kind of makes it to be true....

Hes been through so many battles and has taken a lot of damage, it doesn't matter how good or well protected you are your going to get scars. And if its not him then who is it?

Also, if you read the Halo books MC does take some occasional damage. He is not a perfect human being and it makes it more realistic when it's realized that he is mortal, not invincible.

Yeah why would you bother putting a face behind the helmet (and using up resources) if you can only see it by using that clipping trick? Your answer is the only logical one I can think of, assuming its on purpose and will be in the final version. Guess it's another thing we'll have to wait and see.

And since its just a Beta, i would read into the whole "Why did they bother putting a face on the character" thing. Loading times and trimming, are the last phases of many development cycles.
And i set my age to 99, and the video ran unexpedtedly slow. Maybe theyre right. Maybe technology does hate old people.
I think they did for some kind of effect they'll put on the helmet either in the final build or in the singleplayer. Perhap the helmet is supposed to be slightly transparent so if you look closely you might actually be able to make out some of his face.

Master chief didn't always wear amor, if have ever read the books you'll know that the spartans didn't get MOLJNIR amor til the covenant showed showed up, the spartans did tons of missions before they fought the covenant, Master Chief was even shot in his left side. Its no suprise that the Chief would have scars,Master Chief wasn't the best Spartan, there were others that were faster and stronger than him, but he is the only one who survived

he was however considered to be the best tactically, and was a near perfect leader even if he wasn't the fastest or strongest.

thats does make masterchief the best, survival of the fitest and all that lark, basically the others ones were noobs and masterchief was much more badass and careful and didn't get tanned.
