Just as long as Shia Labeouf doesn't play Jack. For the love of God don't let him play Jack.Well, there goes all chances of Bioshock being any good...
How many franchises will Shia Laboeuf tarnish forever before his retirement?
Spielberg and Halo -- now there's a match made in heaven.

Just as long as Shia Labeouf doesn't play Jack. For the love of God don't let him play Jack. lmfao.Awesome! I was just saying the other day how I was relieved Peter Jackson isn't making the film, and the first name I offered up as replacement was Steven Speilburg. I think he could do a much better job with the movie, glad to hear.
[QUOTE="themtgdude486"]Speilberg produced the transformer movies. He is going down hill ya He produced the first movie right? And i loved that one! The second one was ok not as good though... Gears of war movie, dead space movie, the sims movie (lol) now bioshock (possibly) and Halo?
Are they done trying to ruin franchise by making movie of them? D:
Also Halo fanboys will says ''Halo is the reason we have good movies nowaday'' Ok thats exagerating but you get my point lol.

Its not because its Spielberg that its gonna be a masterpiece, keep that in mind kay? Give another Jurassic park instead.

=P To me the last sentence made sense, you wouldn't believe what i've witnessed from Halo fanboys. Also the one who directed Doom was also rumored to be the one directing a movie of Farcry, which i hope never see the light of the days.
Yeah i know that any kind of fanboy can go way beyond stupidity, thats totally right. Farcry you say? The original? i like the game but the Doom director behind it? No thanks. :P=P To me the last sentence made sense, you wouldn't believe what i've witnessed from Halo fanboys. Well I was never a fan of Jurassic Park, and I didn't want to see the Transformers movies, but even good directors have their bad moments.
This guy gave us Jaws, Saving Private Ryan, Indiana Jones, Schindler's List and Catch Me if You Can, to note a few of his more famous works. He was also directly involved in several memorable cartoon series during the 90's including Tiny Toon Adventures, The Animaniacs, Pinky & The Brain, Freakazoid! and Toonsylvania. He is also working on a movie based off of The Adventures of Tintin and Ghost in the Shell, to name a few other projects.
Can this guy do Halo? Yeah, I think he can. It's all a matter of bringing the world from the games to life, having some good visual affects and a good makeup/design team. I think everything else would fall into place then.
Spielberg's movies suck nowadays, that last Indiana Jones movie was god awful and that Transformers movie a huge disapointment.

Exactly...
what is with this man and his obsession with shia lebouf? also if he makes halo gritty like saving private ryan, it could be very good.
also whoever plays jack can only speak like once in the whole movie.
I do NOT want to see Shia as a freaking UNSC Marine. He'd better be some nerd-tastic techie over the comlink or something like that. That kid doesn't have the appearence, attitude or disposition to play anything else as far as Halo goes. I can't speak for Bioshock seeing as I never played it. But I can certainly speak as far as Halo characters go. Who could he play other than someone in a rear achelon? Certainly not a Spartan and damn sure not a marine. Maybe (depending on the time plot of the movie) a young spartan in training?
No. No. No. No no no no no.
If Spielberg himself is directing the films, that might take a load off my concern. But frankly, the Spielberg I love from the 80s and 90s does not translate into the Spielberg today who has his name on Transformers and parades Shia around like Scorcese does DiCaprio or Burton does Depp. But Scorcese does make fine movies, DiCaprio is a great actor, and same goes with Burton/Depp. IMO Shia really brings the Spielberg/LaBeouf (sp?) team down.
As much as I respect Spielberg's work, I don't believe he's come up with a movie that I've liked from this decade. If he can make Halo firefights as intense as Saving Private Ryan, points for him, but the whole Halo feel might end up missing. Jackson and Blomkamp might have not turned so many heads as Spielberg will undoubtedly do, but I truly believe he won't capture that Halo magic. And also, I think Stuart Beattie has the complete wrong idea for the Halo Universe. His comments a few months ago made me almost glad the film wasn't being made with his name on it. Mark my words, if Halo does come up to be a great film, it'll ultimately be of Spielberg's vision and won't be faithful to the games or the movies. With a director as legendary as Spielberg, he thinks he can take too many artistic liberties.
As for Bioshock as long as Shia LaBeouf keeps his mouth shut, the movie might be THAT much better. Although, if they can get a really strong supporting cast, that's where its strengths will be.
I don't know how the whole Halo will turn out. Though I'd like to be the stunt double who gets to jump 70 feet into the air
Bioshock may be real good though. As long as Spielburgkeeps the creepy look of Rapture, uses the splicers need to survive and their desperation, and how you can use your surroundings to your advantage(not just a giant pew pew fest).
Hopefully he also ditches LaBeouf first and gets an actor, but I can only hope.
