i saw the trailer and i think it looks completely diffrent than the other games. There wasnt really a lot of stealth in the trailer but the action looks absolutely incredible. When sam threw that guy in the burger king place the physics look really real. What doyou think?

God you took the words right out of my mouth, I have been thinking this for a while, only concern is multiplayer, and also the story, like with lambert dead. But this is ubisoft, they are great in games os give them time:)
It'd be a great standalone game, but the fact that the name splinter cell is involved, people such as myself are going to be a little angry at the diversion from stealth action. Now the game is more about crowd control, which isnt so bad, I just think they should stick to the great formula they had with chaos theory. (i dont acknowledge double agent as a game) Also, the role change Sam Fisher has gone through is ridiculous. A freedom fighter fighting for his own cause, it sounds way to cheesy and not Fisher at all, I pray this game doesn't fail like ....dare I utter it's name....Double Agent. Hopefully it'll rock, but my hopes aren't too high.

While I liked Double Agent, it wasnt nearly as good as CT. That game is so freaking good even today.
Thats good you see it as a modern day assassins creed because Ubi Soft montreal developed both of these games. I have high hopes for it but if it comes out close to metal gear solid 4 i'll probably never play it.
Walking through crowds unseen could be considered another kindof stealth. Perhaps it's better this way, we all want another spinter cell but using the same formula again would be repetitive. IF the devs couldnt add anythign original anymore then it's better this way.
I'm with games sticking to their true colors. I know change is good but if the game starts as a stealth game it should stay that way, not the company slapping a good game title on something new they wanna try. Like metal gear solid 4 which is going fps. I loved it when it was the 3rd person action. is it going to be the same fps??? yea different game but same topic

They are basing Conviction off of action movies like The Bourne Identity which is one of my favorite action films so they have my attention. The whole being chased and hunted down gameplay sounds alot funner than the stay in the shadows and be slow and stealthy and if you get seen your ****ed gameplay.

In the first 3 Splinter Cell games, you have many tools at your disposable, you're hardly screwed if you get caught. There's a rush in having a game thats different, and not a run and gun game. Thats what the original SC games were.
I'm a big fan of the SC games, but to see where they are going with the sneaking formula which now looks more like a action packed Assassins Creed type of game... I'm not too sure if this will be a big hit :| The game looks great, and I bet after what Ubisoft learned from AC, it will play really well. I'm just not sure a Clancy kind of game will fair well in a faster paced type of game...
Either way, I look forward to finding out first hand when the game hits next year 8)
i really dont like the way this game is going.. man i loved the sneaking part the splinter cell had.. i wonder if this game conviction has the trick you know the part when you can jump between two walls and stand with yours legs in the air??..
i dont think it will be like the others splinter cell games.. and i heard it was going to use unreal 2.5 is it true?
Yea, bt this is like a movie like bourne or something, and I am pretty sure that movie is sick. So if this has some similarities, then it iwll do good. Now about that storie mode...........
I like assasins creed but i now think that Ubi soft made it to get a real demo out there for the design stealth action in Splinter cell. I am really looking foward to SP5 and I am very glad they are taking it to a new direction. I have played all 4 splinter cells and loved them but in DA I got very bored at the end. So i am glad they are changing the type of stealth and the game will be very good, i just can't wait for more information to be released.
I think the reason for the big change is realism. Now that Sam is a convict, he doesn't have the means to be like he was in the other games. He's trying to escape the law and how do real criminals do that? Not by sneaking around in ventalation ducts or in the shadows. No, they have to hide in plain site. Now, I liked to other 4 games, but this does look extremly good. The other games were like they were beacause of the tools and contacts and job he had. Now, he has nothing but the shirt on his back, and he has to get away without any help.
