I am hanging out with one of my friends this weekend and I am looking to pick up a co-op game we can play on the same tv, does anyone know any good ones.

It depends on what you're looking for. The two I play frequently with my brother and Borderlands (shooter/rpg) and Ghost Recon (shooter). BUT, I don't like/play sports games or racing games, so I'm biased!

Well... types of games you both like would certainly help. As far as shooters: Rainbow Six Vegas 2, GRAW 2, both the Gears of War games, and both the Left 4 Dead games are very good for split-screen co-op. Halo has co-op campaign as well, though I'm personally not a Halo fan.

In the non-shooters category, Castle Crashers is a blast for up to 4 players... that might be my favorite 360 game. And it's... $10 I think? Maybe $15 at the most.

You're so right, Castle Crashers is amazing and cheap. its late, I'm not thinking so well. I totally agree w/ your recommendations! Left 4 Dead is also really fun, but I finished it awhile ago. Ghost Recon and Borderlands are the two I'm still playing.
