I think this is the only thing a Xbox 360 needs right now, just to improve performance in games and decrease popping etc like in GTA IV or GoW although they are not that noticeable for the common eye.

I wouldn't mind exchanging a few gigs of space for better load times and performance, but they can't make it a requirement, since a lot of people have a 360 with no harddrive.

No thanks. First, there's too much good stuff on XBLA and stuff to download right now...I'd rather have the empty space for future options.

Second, most people will only have a 20GB HD, PS3 installs range from 4-6 gb's per game. Third, If I wanted to install a game, I'd buy a PC. Consoles are pop in a game and play, not pop it in, let it install for 30 minutes and then play.

Plus for PS3 using a standard Hard Drive, I'm more willing to use space because I can get any hard drive I want. I'm not paying 200$ for Microsoft's ridicolous hard drive when I could have a 500GB for half of that price. MS messed up this gen with small Hard Drives (And for some, no Hard Drive at all), so keep those installs far far away from me.

i like the idea of installs, but as mau points out, you're stuck with the MS hard drives which, for me, are crap. I really wish they would have went the way of sony and allowed you to upgrade the hard drive yourself. I like having that 300 GB drive in my PS3. I have an original 20 GB 360 and i'm not going to pay the price for the 120 GB drive. it's outrageous.

If the installs are optional and not mandatory like games on the ps3 then its ok. The people with the 20 GB HDD will not be able to install all these games. So if the update allows for optional installs then i'd say its all good. Oh i forgot too that the installs would have to be optional and not mandatory cause people with cores and arcades will not have a HDD (assuming they haven't bought one yet) so if the installs are mandatory, then those people won't get to play the game. So if there is going to be an install option then it has to be optional and not mandatory.

supposedly motion sensing controls as well. Wii = pwned?

We'll all just have to wait and see. I don't really know if I'd install many games to the HDD though....really, why would you need it? Load times are so fast the way it is...would it really speed much up?

Yea this is annoying...I own a Wii, I don't want another one.

Sixaxis failed...So why are they doing this? I like relaxing on my couch laying down with a controller sometimes...I don't always want to be huddling in front of my TV waving crap at it.

Very true, or maybe they will just cut the cost on the 120gb Hard Drive.

Ps1 are you **** kidding me?? I have had all consoles since the NES, and so far the 360 is the best one by far IMO... the only one that comes close is xbox1, because it had an insane modding community (there's no console ever made that could do as much as a modded xbox1... user content, watch any movie format, store full games, movies, whatever on the HDD, + there was a ****load of other features)

When I heard GTA 4 has to be installed on the PS3, I really hoped that sort of thing would happen on the 360 as well. Not everyone has a big harddrive, which is why it should be optional. I have 120gb, and I would love to take advantage of that and install my games so there is less loading time and less pop-up and whatnot.

I didn't quote the rest as I didn't want to get you in any trouble.

Best console was the Dreamcast, you didn't even have to Mod it.
