What kind of software do you use? Do you use Network Magic?

SSID is on your computer by the way.

If you live in the US, you could call up BestBuy and have Geek Squad come over. Or call CircuitCity and have FireDog come over.

Are you using a wireless connection, or a straight connection to the router. I think I can help you.

When you set up your router what was the name you gave you router connection.

I have a linksys router so the name I gave my ssid was just linksys.

THE SSID is the name of your network, go to your computer and hover over the little connected computer on the bottom right corner and it will tell you your SSID in (paranthesis)

go to the little glowing computer in the bottom right of your computer screen, right click, and the select view available wireless networks. It will give a list of networks and tell you which one you are connected to.

ok last try

go to your computer click on the start button> my network places > view network connections

A list should pop up of different types of connections. double click on the one that you are using and anoher window will popup. Your SSID is next to the word network.

If you can't figure this out then I tried my best.

Since you using windows XP, goto START and choose CONNECT TO then SHOW ALL CONNECTIONS, then just click on the WIRELESS NETWORK CONNECTION icon, that should give it to you.

Darn you beat me to it sorta.

If you're not using something to broadcast a signal (such as a cable modem and router that produce a wireless signal), then there is nothing for the adapter to connect to

I did alittle research the router you have isn't a wireless one, its just a regular one, you need to a wireless one to connect with the adapter.

It's possible you just have to do a direct connection, meaning all wires.

Gumboots, also, did you know that your 360 came with an ethernet cable? Yes, the 360 came with an Ethernet cable. It's not that long, but you can buy longer ones, they work exactly the same.
