Star Wars: Knights of the Old Reublic 3?

Has anyone heard anything about KOTOR 3? It's odd that such a successful game would have NO news about a sequel for 3 years. KOTOR 2 left the gate wide open for a sequel with the way it ended and any game that sells well generally gets a sequel pumped out every year or 2. What happened here? I'm hoping that Mass Effect, though awsome in it's own right,is sort of a preview of what's to come when or if those guys get around to a KOTOR 3.

Any thoughts?

I heard they were going to be skipping part 3 and for the first time in Star Wars history be starting at part IV. I know crazy right!?!?!?!!?

For the ten billionth time, BioWare has said they will not be making any more KOTOR games - KOTOR 2 was completed by Obsidian - it depends on what they are doing and or what they want to do. LucasArts will have to promise BW not to pound on them and rush them if BioWare would ever decide to come back to the project. I'm sure it will be like other trilogy's, the first one comes out, and immediately the next one starts production.

Watch for Obsidian, not BW for KOTOR 3.

BioWare didn't make the second KOTOR. They passed it on to another developer, Obsidian. BioWare most likely won't have time to make another KOTOR since they'll be working on the Mass Effect trilogy. Obsidian has said they'd love to do another one, but no news as of yet.

I think most agree that KOTOR I by Bioware was better than KOTOR II by Obsidian. Bioware had stated a while back that they were more interested in working on their own IP i.e., Mass Effect, as opposed to Lucasarts' IP. So I think it would be hard presssed for Bioware to make another KOTOR. Perhaps obsidian would, who knows.

But Lucasarts right now is focused on Forces Unleashed in the Stars War IP, so I think we should probably just let the KOTOR franchise rest in peace..

I wouldn't say that. Yes, KOTOR 2 was bad (see my review for confirmation) but I think we give them another chance. They just released Never Winter Nights 2 and recieved decent marks form the major gaming publications. I think now, with a few more games under their belts, and more experience as a whole, they can put out quality games.

I don't care which of the two does it, Bioware, or Obsidian, I just want a conclusion to my story damn it!

They just released Never Winter Nights 2 and recieved decent marks form the major gaming publications. Still, I think it'd be better if they go back to original developer instead of going in another direction. Bioware started it and it should be the one that finishes it. I think the biggest reason KOTOR 2 failed is because Obsidian was trying to run with existing code that wasn't theirs.

No they're not people from Bioware. They're people from closed houses like Blizzard. Basically it's made up of the industries rejects and screw ups who were fired.
