It's not legal. I have to pay for the service and live about 10 blocks from Starbucks

10 blocks is too far away for the wireless signal to reach. You better buy an ethernet cable and run it straight from the Starbucks router to you house.

I have the Same question, only I've been using an original xbox adapter which has worked just fine in the past. I spend a LOT of time in starbucks, and it's only sensible to grab my 360 right?! no we just dont have internet where I live and starbucks is giving it away for FREE. I'm just making lemonade , haters. we weren't all born with a silver spoon up our ass. Anyway. I brought in my xbox, jacked in and it spouted me some Jargon about the NAT setting not high enough. so it looks like a no go there, but I haven't tried at anyothers starbucks . . . yet.

Living above Starbucks is not going to help you get free internet so you can join XBox live. You better put on a extra pot of coffee and come up with another plan.

The free wifi is for customers. Its not really stealing as they offer it for free. I dont think the signal will go for over 1/2 a mile lol. You'd be lucky to get a few hundred feet at best.

Guys, the OP asked this question in 2007. I really don't think he will be paying attention to your suggestions.

Though back when I didn't have an internet connection that is exactly what I did. I would just take my laptop to a Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, or library and play games.
