Sorry if this question has been asked before.

Is there a post or article you can point me to or any info on the number of reported breakdowns on the new black premium 360's?

Are the black Premiums more reliable? Are there reports that they are made better? Obviously there are less numbers of the black ones breaking, but there are also less black ones out there right now.

My Pro or White 360 just got the 3 red lights, and I have an entended warranty so I'm thinking of paying a little money extra and replacing my white one with the new black Premium instead. I heard the black ones have a lower failure rate. Anyone know if this is true?

Would I be better off letting MS repair my old 360? With my extended warranty I can get a black Premium for around $50.

Advice?

the elites(not called black premiums btw)have a slightly new architecture -- new heatsink attached to the GPU to help reduce overheating problems that can lead to hardware failure. as for coughing $50 for a new elite, i dont see any reasons why not.
