"I hate wwii shooters they're all the same." "I can't believe another wwii shooter is coming out." Stop saying they are all the same because THEY'RE NOT. Go complain about how the Madden sports games are all the same. Football, NCAA, Nascar, Hockey, Soccer...THEY'RE ALL THE SAME. Not WWII shooters.

Well a lot are considering the majority of them focus on the D-Day landings and the invasion of France, only one i know of has covered the Battle of Bastogne which was CoD:United Offensive, and one will cover Operation Market Garden which is BIA:Hells Highway, like 2 or 3 have done the Pacific and a handfull have done italy and africa, there is nothing new coming out of WW2

Everyone is sick of them because we all know what happened in WWII. There's no surprises in the story at all. In Call of Duty 4, it was exiting because you DIDN'T know what was going to happen. That's why I'm sick of WWII shooters. (And everyone likes future/modern guns.)

NEVER!

But seriously, I could care less that there are more WWII shooters. You could complain that there is too much of any game really. "I'm so sick of puzzle games!" "I'm so sick of RPGs!" There are always going to be a lot of types of games in a genre, just deal with it!

A lot of people are sick of them because they're mostly all unoriginal and lack a story other than their historical time-line.

You really picked the wrong genre for and example. And i don't think i've ever heard someone say that about the 360's library.

You're comparing a WWII shooter to a sporting event? Its Football, Basketball, NASCAR, Hockey, Soccer. They don't change. Teams change. Owners change. Plays change. But the fundamental gameplay of any sport stays the same. WWII had many battles. Many countries. Many weapons. But WWII games keep rehashing the same battles, with the same countries, with the same weapons. And that's why people get tired of them. It's not the gameplay. A good game is a good game. And i wont ignore any game just because of the setting. But give me something new. If you do, and its a good game, they'll keep getting my money.

I agree, Turning Point sounds great in concept it was just poorly executed. A better developer should really try to re-do that game or try something similar I think.

There are so many battles they could base the games on but they seem to focus on only a few battles and just use those over and over. I think that's why everyone complains so much, but after reading about COD World at War I think people will like that better than the past few WWII games that have come out. Actually with World at War and BIA3 I think people will get back into WWII games.

It's not World War 2 that's overdone, it's the games based on World War 2. There's plenty of stuff they could do with World War 2 that could be very good. But becuase the casual gamer doesn't think much about the reviews or the history of the series, they just see "Oh,this is a shooter i like shooters, i will play this." At least that's what my freinds who don't play many games seem to be like. I guess there's nothing wrong with that, I can't blame people for not being completely informed about everything video games or anything. But I am COMPLETELY tired of the typical World War 2 First-Person shooter.

I will play any WWII game as long as it is fun and realistic. I could care less wether they keep making them but the only thing I wish they would do is have you doing things other than destroy AA guns and raiding a big house on the top of a hill surrounded by Nazis.

Like I want to storm the beaches of Normandy and have an experience almost like the DDay scene in Saving Private Ryan.

I don't care where or when it is (excluding the future) as long as it is fun, realistic, and has you do lots of things.

Why don't you stop complaining about the WWII videogame complainers?

There are too many FPSs on the 360. There are too many WWII FPSs. It was a novel idea 10 years ago; now it is a long dead horse whose tattered corpse is continually beaten by developers too eager to copy the idea and attempt to make a quick buck.

I'd much rather see the money and talent invested in an original title, or an under-represented genre, or just something new and different. Instead, we're shoveled more WWII titles and expected to fork over our money to support a tired genre in a tired setting.

Why can't developers do something a little different? I don't know - how about a third-person shooter set in Vietnam? It's not that far outside the box, but could be interesting. Not the same old tired crap we're getting instead.

If people try to be innovative, ther are crucified by critics because it doesn't work well. If people release the same old stuff, the critics destroy it because it isn't doing anything different. A lose lose situation in my opinion.

I don't think that's true. I don't expect game companies these days to invest a ton of money in a radically new genre. But at least try something a little different. Bioshock, Mass Effect, and Assassin's Creed are three good examples. All were new titles, not sequels. All brought something a little new and different to their genres. And all received both critical and commercial praise.

What has been announced for COD5 is a step backward. Why are we going back to WWII? The gameplay sounds like Treyarch will simply rehash the awesomeness that Infinity Ward created. They're going to have to give me a reason to stop playing COD4. I'm going to need more than COD4+1.

I agree, most sports games are identical. But ww2 games have been done to death. We all know what's gonna happen. It's the same battles in different games. If they could give an emotional storyline, or better character development, to make one stand out from the rest of the ww2 shooters, it would be good. That's why I'm looking forward to Brothers in Arms Hells Highway.

I do enjoy WWII shooters and would keep buying them if they came out. At the same time, however, there are other wars I'd rather there be games for. For example, I would love to see developers take a shot at a WWI or Revolutionary War game...or maybe even like a game involving warfare from the Medieval period or something Braveheart-esque like that.

SirCokerThe9th

We are compaining because we dont want a good game like Call of Duty 4, being as successful as it was, getting FUKED up by some random developer, making the game in the same setting and time as all the other 100 FPS WWII piece of crap games that came before it. Whats the point of making the same game, u cant change the story, only the gameplay but that can be very limited. How the hell will COD5 online be compared to COD4's online? Will we get some random attachments? COD4 took a risk and made a new story new setting and fun weapons. In the WWII games the story was predicatable but in Call of Duty 4 u didnt no what happened. I think that we all have the right to FUKING compain about these crappy WWII shooters and hopefully us whining and complaining will get through the stupid developers heads. WORLD WAR GAMES SUCK!! PERIOD!!

Mostly we constaintly buy Sports games because of the new physics and graphics, sometimes they add new gameplay elements but mostly we buy these game so when ppl come over we can play against eachother and have a good time.

Also u didnt even justify or explain why all WWII games are not the same....Same time period, same guns, SAME STORY, SAME GAME!

FAIL!!!

QFT.

How are there too many WW2 shooters on the 360?

CoD2
CoD3
The Outfit
Hour of Victory
Turning Point

That's 4 too many.

WW2 shooters is my favorite genera, and I am way excited for The new Call of duty World at war, It sounds F'ing intense and brutal.
