"The title of Activision's press release for Guitar Hero songpacks on the Xbox 360 Marketplace is "ACTIVISION ANNOUNCES DETAILS ON DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT FOR GUITAR HERO II ON THE XBOX 360" but it might as well be "ACTIVISION PROPOSES RIPPING YOU THE HELL OFF ON DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT FOR GUITAR HERO II ON THE XBOX 360."

"...this is the biggest rip-off in the history of Xbox Live Marketplace. Moreso than horse armor. More, even, than paying for cheat codes in EA games.

"Not to get all "rally cry" on this, but I will say that I'm not paying for any of these packs, and I recommend you do the same. When you cave in to crap like this, you're just letting publishers like Activision and RedOctane get away with unreasonable pricing."

Agreed. If you guys buy these things, the game publishers will think you are supporting this bs and thus you'll be paying $60 for half the game, and maybe another $20 for the other half.Cruxis27

That doesn't apply here though because GH2 is a FULLY-FEATURED game right out of the box.  The DL songs on Live are extras only from GH1, it's not like they sold half of GH2 to us & are making us pay more to get the rest of the game.  There's a big difference.

Reading someone else's opinion is not enough to make me abandon my own, like many people on this forum. If you don't like it, don't buy it. It's such a simple concept, a two-year-old should be able to grasp it. All the crying in the world won't change the price, so pony up the whopping 500 points, or don't buy the songs.

And if it does, you STILL won't be forced to buy anything you don't want to.

Well, the first console I bought with my own money was an 8-bit Nintendo back in the 80's, so you could say I have a little bit of experience in the world of consumer affairs. Thanks for your baseless assumption though. I'm plenty informed. I know 2 things about this topic. Take notes if you wish.

1. $6.25 is not a lot of money in the real world, so if it makes someone happy to buy 3 songs for that price, more power to them. Will I buy them? No. I have GH1 on the PS2, as do many others, so the urge is not there. Will I pay that price if they release new songs that appeal to me? Absolutely, if I feel like it.

2. As I stated before, nobody is forcing you to buy these songs. That's why it's called "bonus content." It's there if you want it, to enhance your gaming experience. Someone stated earlier that GH2 is shipped as a complete product, and he was absolutely correct. Anything sold on the marketplace is simply there to add replay value to an already exceptional game. If you don't like it, don't buy it, but don't get offended and call others "uninformed consumers" if they  don't want to join in on your pointless crusade. It's 6 bucks, people. Relax.

Guys, it does come with over 70 songs already. It would be a slap in the face if it came with 20 and you ahd to buy all the rest.
