If you use Microsofts software, you're restricted to what format to stream.

You should check out TVersity. With this software you can stream all types of music and movies as long as you have the right codecs on your PC. If needed, the software will convert video on the fly. I've tried the software and it works.

All you have to do is download WMP 11 and add all your pics, WMVs, mp3's, wma's. to the library, and make sure sharing is turned on.  Don't use the stupid Zune software and dont follow the directions on your 360 just use Windows Media Player 11, that is of course if you don't want to use TVersity which powns.

I was having trouble getting the media center to work, so i tried TVersity as well. It doesn't seem my 360 can detect it. Am I missing something? I installed the program, filled the library and put it on auto detect.

The May update will add Dvix, Xvid and H.264 video support. I've tried TVersity, but it didn't work for me.
