you my friend, are stupid. you would like slayer but not metallica? Metallica is about a billion times better than slayer, motorhead, and iron maiden combined.god I hate metallica,
I wouldnt mind a little slayer but I reckon itll be too controversial and too heavy even for 'rock band'
A little motorhead and iron maiden wont hurt though.

LOL..I agree however, current word on new metallica album is think puppets + black.
People like us will never have decent metal included on any game.. it will always be the mainstream stuff or older, overplayed tunes.
I say exodus, slayer, kreator and head over europe way, add some grimfist, satyricon, susperia

My friend, you do not understand metal if you choose Metallica over slayer :P
Metallica have turned into this awful mainstream pop-rock group, who are possibly the most overrated in the Metal world.
Iron Maiden and Motorhead as well as slayer have always been great assets to metal. Â

Load, reload, ST Sh*t, S&M...not a very good run from metallica crew, Im hoping for a return to form with the new album.
Altho calling him/her stupid over their opinion seems rather stupid of urself.. u have ur opinion, they have theirs, if everyone agreed be a rather boring world we live in.

LOL Grimfit and sayricon?! man as much as I love that music theyll NEVER include any of it. If I had it my way Behemoth, Nargaroth, Emperor, Xasthur and the lot will all get a track.Â
Still I dont see why they cant include some good old thrash; Kreator, sodomy and Destruction should be decent choices.Â

Well lucky for u n I..this will be a good day: 17.07 Behemoth - The Apostasy . Not long to go before we are pummelled once again from polish death metal masters.
may as well say Iced Earth and Death Angel too lol.
Oh yeah, slayer would be awesome. Old metalica would be good, like ride the lighting, anything newer than that sucks. I would love to see some heaven shall burn, but that will never happen.ironwarrior2
HSB - The Dream is Dead!. but anything off Antigone would be good.
Personally I cant get enough of Hell Within's newey : Shadows of Vanity. A silent prayer for the haunted, in the absence of fire and Between the dead and the decieved r well worth inclusion.
What my union banner says but I would also like Killswitch Engage -My CurseTWOC2689
my god I hate that song & that band..they sucked big hairy balls live too.Â
Dillinger Escape Plan - "Phone Home"
Amon Amarth - "Runes To My Memory"
At The Gates - "Under A Serpent Sun"
The Autumn Offering - "Ghost"
Becoming The Archetype - "Second Death"
Boy Sets Fire - "Rookie"
Darkest Hour - "These Fevered Times"
The Human Abstract - "Harbinger", "Crossing The Rubicon", "Vela, Together We Await The Storm"
The Showdown - "Hell Can't Stop Us Now"
Into Eternity - "Beginning Of The End"
Still Remains - "Blossom The Witch"
3 Inches of Blood - "Revenge Is A Vulture"

Metallica and Slayer are pretty mainstream nowadays, and neither are that good. I would love some black metal on there though.Â
This is MTV. It is all going to be mainstream music. Guitar Hero already covers all the lesser-known bands, so they need to appeal to a different audience with Rock Band.Angarah
all i have to say is...emo anyone? not this little black duck thats for sure...

A lot of those metal bands you listen to have emo lyrics.

Iron Maiden destroys Metallica. Motorhead and Slayer are fairly good as well.
All he did was post his opinion on Metallica, anyways.
And did I mention how Metallica has absolutely nothing on Iron Maiden?Â

Alot of pop bands have emo lyrics? whats ur point? and the majority of the bands I like (check profile for a rather long list) arent whining about, oh im so depressed etc etc.. more saying ur F******, this is F****** or I dont agree with this. Ok so now its oh, all metal is angry.. no metal is about empowerment, emo is Whiney dribble. Pantera - Walk.. cl@ssic metal song about empowerment..
so to sum up, emo = whining about my life instead of doing something about it.
metal = self empowerment, dont take sh*t from anybody, respect your fellow ppl.
and for the few that dont quite fit my quick and nasty generalisations, they like to tell stories/concepts aka power metal.
EDIT: I could start on how emo A7x is.

I haven't listened to A7X since Waking The Fallen, so that point is moot. Then again, I could care less what you consider emo. It doesn't matter what genre it is, I'll listen to anything. I'm not an elitist tart.
Im not no elitist tart, but im sure as hell not going to sit and listen to crap music. By crap I mean the same stuff redone. Yes, i know, it happens everywhere, pop, metal, rap, someone has done it before. but the key is to find the bands that do it differently. I personally dont like the emo genre coz it all sounds the same. Sure, the same could be said about every genre on the face of the planet. each on is diluted with so much copy cat artistry its not funny. Now whether the band was already like that due to its influences or whether they went that route due to their label. My point, in reference and context to this thread, was that its done by mtv so mainstream is going in, and being a rock game, currently everything rock, is emo. here in australia anyway. U lucky buggers in the US get decent metal played on tv, radio and in the charts.
So if me being choosey about what I listen to coz I dont want to listen to some watered down version of something or something I feel is boring coz all they know is 3 chords that each song is composed of, then yes, I must be an elitist tart.

Damn then..Best we all move to europe lol.Â
i'm hoping as many of these as possible make it into either rock band or guitar hero 3:
Queens of the Stone Age- Go With the Flow (QOTSA is already comfirmed for Rock Band)
Dream Theater- Pull Me Under (Rock Band NEEDS DT)
Marilyn Manson- The Fight Song (a fun song to play, and my favorite Manson song)
Rush- A Passage to Bangkok (more Rush would be great)
DragonForce- Fury of the Storm (for obvious reason)
Tool- Sober (I'm surprised Tool hasn't bee in GH yet)
Rage Against the Machine- Bulls on Parade (original recording Rage=win)
AC/DC- Back in Black (for obvious reasons)
Pink Floyd- Money (see above)
The Devin Townsend Band- Vampira (I'd love to see DTB in Guitar Hero, and then maybe SYL in Rock Band)
Faith No More- Midlife Crisis (a song with great insturmentals and vocals)
Lacuna Coil- Heaven's a Lie (this song would be a lot of fun to play IMO)
The Cure- Just Like Heaven (not necessarily a great guitar part, but it certainly deserves to be in it)
Children of Bodom- Needled 24/7 (outstanding guitar and drums parts)
Megadeth- Peace Sells (they've been in the first 2 GH games, but their best song has yet to be used)
Blind Guardian- Fly (a varied power metal song that would be fun to play)
Breaking Benjamin- So Cold (a well recognized mainstream song that would be good in the first set of songs)
Lamb of God- Walk With Me in Hell (an original recording of this song would be a huge improvement over Laid to Rest)
Metallica- Master of Puppets (for obvious reasons)
Soundgarden- The Day I Tried to Live (a well-rounded song that would be fun on all peripherals)
The Mars Volta- The Widow (GH needs more progressive rock IMO)
Mastodon- Blood & Thunder (they've been gaining more and more popularity, so there's a decent chance of them being in it)
Pantera- Walk (for obvious reasons, and that Dimebag's name was in a GH achievement)
Red Hot Chili Peppers- Give It Away (I'd love for them to bring RHCP back without having a cover of a cover like with "Higher Ground)
The Who- Won't Get Fooled Again (for obvious reasons)
Black Sabbath- Heaven and Hell (Ozzy Sabbath's been in it twice, so it's time for Dio Sabbath to get a chance)
Santana- Black Magic Woman (for obvious reasons)
Slayer- Reign in Blood (for obvious reasons)
Three Days Grace- Animal I Have Become (i'm not a fan of 3DG, but this song has a great bass part)
Van Halen- Panama (Rock Band needs a better Van Halen song than "You Really Got Me")
Primus- Jerry Was a Race Car Driver (amazing bass part, and vocals that would be easy to do)
Dream Theater- Pull Me Under (Rock Band NEEDS DT)
matrix_hiei
Hell yes.Â
Tool- Sober (I'm surprised Tool hasn't bee in GH yet)
matrix_hiei
The only decent tool song IMO.
The Devin Townsend Band- Vampira (I'd love to see DTB in Guitar Hero, and then maybe SYL in Rock Band)matrix_hiei
Swap'em, DTB in rock band, SYL in guitar hero.Â
Lamb of God- Walk With Me in Hell (an original recording of this song would be a huge improvement over Laid to Rest)
