Suggestions for some non FPS team on team gameplay?

Howdy,

I'm a relativly new 360 owner, and since a few friends and I pretty much all got 360's at the same time we are plannin on getting on live once or twice a month to play together. What I am curious about is what titles would be a good fit for a group of about 6-9 guys where we could split off into two or three teams? The idea is we want a game that we can practice on and advance in solo or with our team mates then get together online once a month for a big showdown, the catch is we have agreed to avoid the FPS genre since roughly half of our gang plays them daily and would simply decimate any of us who don't. Essentially we want a game that we can all go out and buy, learn the game, play thru single player to learn the ropes, and start meeting with teamates to plan out strats for the months big game. We'd play each month till the game got stale then put out a vote for a new game. Rinse repeat.

What I'm hoping for are titles with a strong teamplay and strategic element with some customizability, games that have a closed match system so we can lock out other people not invited, and something that can be played in a two hour block.

So far, I've been advised to check out chrome hounds since it has solid teamplay and because its an older title that can be scored fairly cheap. If anyone has had a decent amount of CH experience, please don't be shy and let us know what you think and if it would make for a good fit.

I'm totally open for suggestions, but so far CH is the only non FPS that I've been told to check out so I thought I'd post this as I peruse the library. many thanks for any advice or suggestions.

Halo 3 is cheap now if you guys dont have it already. Gears of War is also great. Skate is a fun game too play with friends. Ace COmbat 6, maybe an arcade game would be cool too, but not many with big multiplayer. shadowrun may also fit in too. Gears of War is the beast game for fun intense tactical non fps games.

You need to stop and actually give this kid a suggestion. Don't just barge in here and start rediculing people.

On topic: Civilization Revolution is a great game too play. Are you and your friends into racing games??

I myself have nothing against the fps genre, and I play CoD4 pretty regularly, but you can't fault anyone for wanting a little variety. C'mon, theres a staggering number of shooters in the 360 library, and just this once we are looking for something a little different. No need to fight over it.

Also, feel free to sugest good teamplay fps for others interested in the thread, but try not to hijack the original request.

try a sports game like fifa or if you guys are into golf, tiger woods would be perfect, its a great game too.

racing games would be awesome, you could get all of you in one race online. Pretty much any racing game will do it for you. I would recommend PGR4. Top game and great online features as well as not being overly difficult for beginners and still good fun for racing fanatics. I prefer Forza or Gran Turismo but I'm more of a hardcore driving gamer.

lol u do have a problem, well to be honest right now i dont know of anything, sports games dont usually allow more than 2 players, racing your always versing eachother, so sorry until FF13 or Huxley comes out (which is an MMOFPS) i think ure pretty much stuck if u dont want a FPS

civilazation is a good one me and friends play that... fifa is good game you can have each one of your players as a posistion on your team going against another group of players on a different team... Rockband has online multiplayer... i heard rockband 2 will have band vs band online player... world series of poker has online play not really teamwork but at least you can talk crap while playing poker lol... marvel ultimate alliance has teamplay.. skate is pretty awesome if you have friends that like skating... cant really think of much else if i do come up with more games ill postLilirch100302

Pretty much any sports game.

Some RPGs might have co-op though, I would look into that if I were you.
