Super Noisy fans?

Is this normal?

My Xbox is a launch version and I recently moved and my Xbox is in a smaller room now, so I started noticing an excessive noise from the fans (probably on par with the total noise from my dishwasher in the kitchen).

Is this normal? Is there anyway to make them quieter? I'm way off warranty so I don't mind opening it up.

Well if its a launch version it's going to start screwing up sometime. I guess now is the time, :\

speaking of which, ive noticed a bit of increased noise coming from the fan on my 360. i got it in March 2007 so hopefully it should be alright. anyway, i im not too bothered because i got an extended warranty from GAME that comes into action after the microsoft warranty and it covered the red ring of death.

when i bought it though i was told that i could have a bit of noise but the wierd fan extension thingy would fix that and make it run much quieter. if you have moved into a smaller room though does your 360 have enough ventilation?

my 360 usually does that, but it seems to work fine.
