I recently boughtHD tv and wish to purchase surround sound as well. I don't really know anything about them and I am on a tight budget after getting the TV. Does every surround sound system work with 360 or do I have to purchase a specific one? If so, do you recommend any?

Thanks!

The 360 has an optical digital output on the A/V connector. You will need to make sure that the receiver has an optical input. You may also want to decide what else you would want to hook up to the receiver, and make sure it has the correct inputs. (such as a DVD player, CD player, VCR, etc...)

Depends on if your surround sound comes with a receiver or not. You might be able to hardwire it to a TV in some cases. Toshiba makes fairly nice, but yet cheap models. Also, wireless rear speakers are nice.
