Are these worth purchasing for your 360? I do use it for up to 6-7 hrs at times. Does the cooling fan actually increase perfomance as stated? Should i get 1? Is the earth round? Where are my shoes? Please let me know.

I understand that three red lights will cause your 360 to BREAK but how does your 360 develop the Three Light Syndrome?

I heard from several people that the constant heating and cooling from the 360 causes the hardware failure. I'm sure there could be other reasons. Well from my guess, playing the 360 an excessive amount of times may progress the cooling and heating. Personally I have a laptop cooler and a normal fan that I place in the back of the 360. Its been working pretty good. I've had mine since april of last year, and its still running great. I have never had freezing problems or any issues of that nature. My opinion, cooling your 360 is the way to go.

the red lights can come from hardware failuer, hardware failure can come from long term high temps, hence, a cooling fan will help prolong the life of the 360, simple.  I have one, and I swear by it.  I;ve played oblivion for 8 hours straight before, no issues, however, i once did that with the fan off, and it froze quite a few times.

I have the intercooler, the one everyone says kills your 360, I;ve had it for 6 months and its fine, i;ve never had a problem using it, and neither has the other 2 360's in the house had issues. As a matter of fact, between the 3 in my house, and friends, we ALL have intercoolers, and no one has ever had an issue.

The end you plug the intercooler into your 360 over time will melt try taking it off after a few months. You will get the four red lights any you will have to difficultly pull off the intercooler because the plastic will melt onto the metal conductors. My 360 is from launch and so was the intercooler the 360 started acting up after about 10 months diffucultly took it off and the console has been fine since.

Sorry for the grammer in my last post. *You will get the four red lights and will have difficulty pulling off the intercooler because the plastic will melt onto the metal conductors. Please don't buy the intercooler it is garbage.

^^ True and not true.  Many people have the intercooler and use it without any problems.  I've only heard of two cases in which the intercooler caused a problem (probably didn't use a surge protector)

If you're a real tech buff like me you can modify the intercooler fan and attach a 12 volt adapter so it doesn't drain power from the xbox brick.  You need to know how to use a soldering iron though.

I dont know why some one would do it, but unless you leave you 360 on 24/7 then you should get it, but otherwise dont, well unless you just truely want to get the cooling fan addon then go head what ever you want, its not too expensive, but I would not recommend it unless like the other guy said if you have your xbox in the sun, or for some reason your xbox has more heat than if you just had it on in an average room temperature then just stick with the fans that are built in the 360
