Alright so I've had my 360 for about a year now and whenever I turn off my tv or switch inputs, then turn it back on to that input, the system will restart. I know for a fact that my system stays on when the TV is off, as I have turtle beaches, which continue to play game sound. This is incredibly annoying, and it prevents me from turning my tv off if I am going into another room for a bit, or if I want to check something on ps3, which is hooked up to another input. This does not happen to my ps3 by the way. Is this supposed to happen or what? I have an xbox 360 slim, and my TV is a 42 inch vizio.

Do you have any other cords besides the HDMI going from your xbox to your tv like a seperate sound cable or something?

I had that problem and it only happened when I used only the HDMI cable. It would restart if I ever switched to another source like TV.

I keep the audio plug (That came with my Elite) plugged in even if I don't use and now I can switch freely.

Just pick up one of those audio plugs and you should be fine.
