To those who've played it:

I am 17 hours in, just after the big battle at the Colloseum with Belius, and for the last 5 hours - i think that's when Act 2 started - i've completely lost my interest in the characters. I was unually fond of them in Act 1, then they stayed the same. Does Act 3 have some spark? I mean at this point i'm praying for some major loving or hating encounter with anyone. I guess i can read the plot on Wiki, but i want to know about the characterisation.

God i miss Mass Effect 2, too...

Thank you.

Tales of Vesperia has some of the best characters in a JRPG today. I liked all of them. They all continually grow throughout the story, so I guess just stick with it. The game is fantastic.

I'm with you TC. It was an alright game but somewhat bland. It has the same artistic style and gameplay (close to it) as eternal sonata but fails in comparison.

Stick with the game!!!! The first and third act are the better ones. The second felt bland though. Most Tales of third act are some of the most epic scenes.

I didn't really play that game for the story. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't amazing.

Its main character its one of the best in RPG's if not the best in RPG's ever, so i fail to see how you can get bored of him.:l

Yeah just keep going. Your pretty close to a really good part of the plot if not the turning point of the whole game.

If Belius is the pirate guy, then the same thing happened to me close to that part of the game. I was having fun with it, but then I just lost all interest in it. I think it's partially because I felt like I understood the combat to a degree that no fight would be a challenge to me. I also, didn't like how the cutscenes weren't as dynamic with camera angles as Eternal Sonata (a game I think blows but I did finish it) and it felt like the story that I really cared about reached its conclusion and the one that opened up didn't grab me as much. I keep saying I will go back to it, but it's been months now.

He's not even the best male character from 360 JRPGs, let alone best RPG character ever.
