Tales of Vesperia IGN review is out!! what do you guys think?

so yesterday IGN posted up their Tales of Vesperia review. idk if I should be happy about an 8.2 or not, honestly. what do you guys think about this game now? worth a buy?

I think I'm still gonna buy this game though since Tales of Symphonia is my current favorite console game.

btw: if anyone gets ToV, I would REALLY appreciate it if you could msg me about what you think about the game. or you could post it here when it comes out.

For me, a jrpg reviewed in America alwayss has a point added to it, since every time great rpg's get mediocre scores since the fan base isn't as big anymore.

An 8.2 = 9.2 for me. Can't wait, pre ordered it way back already

Reading the review, it sounds like the game is worth more than an 8.2. I'm still going to get it.JAB991

IGN is incredibly nit picky now. If there is one problem they act like the game is completely flawed and won't give it a very high score. Sometimes it seems that they didn't even play the game as well.

I just hope Vesperia's story is on par to Symphonia. the Symphonia plot twists were the best thing I've ever seen in a videogame/ book/ anything.

It also really depends on the reviewer,

you can't expect him to really favor the game if he doesnt like rpg's to begin with,

I mean I don't know anything about him,

but most reviews are biased cause theyre to apt to compare other games rather than

games of the series, if the formula isnt flawed then why change it dramatically = upset fanbase.

Now maybe if he other's of the series his score may seem believable,

but from what I see it looks like another tales game which are usually high 8's+ to me.

You seriously need a game to get a high review so you'll buy it? Read the damn review, it says the game is awesome, the only flaws are the lack of detail in the good looking graphics, it looks good it just isn't detailed, the combat is fantastic.

I'm shocked by how people lost they're own opinions and suddenly the opinion of someone they never have and never will meet matters more to them..

absolutely agreed. i find that this is often a reason why jrpgs in particular seem to get around half to a full point shaved off.

Looks like it'll be pretty enjoyable. I'll have my little bro get it since I don't feel like spending my money on it.

Emotional storyline, likeable characters, with good voice acting, powerful story. It's missing all that so there's no reason for me to play it.Elann2008

8.2 is an above average score people, so you know it's going to be a good game unless you absolutely hate anime or jrpgs. Lost Odyssey got a 7.5 here and was a very good game so don't rely too much on scores anyways.Bigboi500

It got 7's because they got a copy that wasn't the retail version. Huge load times which aren't present in the retail copy. Many sites complained about the load times and othetr various problems not found in the retail version.
