This rpg is up there with Lost Odyssey and The Witcher as the best rpgs of the last few years.

Dont sleep on Tale Of Vesperia! And dont let the demo give u the wrong impression. The full version is amazing, fantastic story, the characters get more interesting as the game goes on, fun combat. Overall its a great rpg! Give it a chance if you looking for a new rpg!

I just finally got the game today in the mail man, im only about 30mins into it (:

Althought i did try the game a few days ago at my friends, didny play much though.

Ill come back in an hour or two adn leave you some impressions on the things you asked about.

Based on the 2-3 hours i played at my friends place and the 30mins so far on my 360, id have to give the game a 9/10 so far, it seems very fun and interesting (:

I actually took a break but will probably play a few hours tonight. I was stuck on an incredibly annoying boss 16 hours in and realized if I changed 1 person in my party then it changed the fight from impossible to somewhat difficult. Beat him first try with the new team I had used.

The terrible voice acting (like any other JRPG) ruins it for me. And no I do not want the JP voices instead. Just better voice actors.

Im a few hours into it and its right up there with the best in the tales series. I to loved TOS, and this one could be even better:)

If anyone is wanting a very solid rpg with a great story, check this out!

Im pretty sure ANYONE who enjoyed Lost Odyssey will enjoy this game alot (also anyone who has played any of the tales games in the series)

Hmm. I've been eyeballing this one fairly closely since it came out. Good feedback about the story, characters, and combat. I do have a question though. LO and The Witcher aren't particularly similar games. In fact, they are drastically different from one another in terms of how they play. Is Tales more a traditional RPG type game in line with what LO would be like or does it actually have choices and consequences like The Witcher had?

The reason i mentioned LO and The Witcher is because those are the two best rpgs in the last 3 years imo.

Tales is more like LO then The Witcher (from what ive played so far), mainly just because one is a western rpg and one is a jrpg. If you enjoy both western and jrpgs then you should enjoy this new TALES alot imo. I really enjoyed the story in LO and The Witcher also, so thats another reason why i mentioned them. Id say if your a fan of either of those two rpgs (or a fan of both like me), then i reccomend gettign tales:)

So far the story is pretty interesting in tales for me and the characters and combat are better then in the demo.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. That does help. I like the more top-notch JRPG titles. For example, I'll always pick up the next Final Fantasy or Suikoden game, but I'm a little lukewarm on games that are heavily anime of which I'm not a big fan. I'll read a couple more reviews and then make my decision.

This by far. My friend bought IU and I played some and it is nowhere near the level that ToV is on.

Agree on the demo thing... I played the demo of this game and thought it was absolutely terrible. I was thinking, GREAT, another crappy JRPG with bad voice acting, linear pathing, terrible combat, etc. But the demo just kinda dumps you into this one spot that doesn't make much sense, and that boss fight in the demo is still the most difficult boss fight I've encountered in the game, and I'm about 25 hrs in. The demo does a terrible job of a demo and shouldn't've been released. Play the first hour or two of the game and you'll be hooked...

I'm loving it immensely right now. Problem is there's not enough time to devote to it. It reminds me of my favorite RPG of all time, Star Ocean: the second story. Greatness. I'm hoping to get another play through in soon after I finish it.

I was planing on buying both Tales of Vesperia and Infinite Undiscovery. Buy after seeing my cousin play IU, I think I'll just stick with ToV. I'm a big JRPG fan, and Tales of Symphonia was one I my favorite games for the Gamecube.

I don't think I can go wrong with picking this up, and from the feedback it seems even better than what I thought it would be.

Well I have to be honest, you should've known exactly what the artstyle would've been like and the characters you should've at least had some idea what they would be like as it's a JRPG. Yuri becomes a total badass though.

Good to hear. I'm in need of another RPG badly, the last I played was Eternal Sonata and it was fantastic. I've played Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube and this does look quite similar, and that's a good thing.

the game looks very interesting, but im not sure...im not the biggest fan of JRPG's....but then again i never gave any a chance except for FFX, which was ok but really boring. The only RPG's i really enjoy seem to be western RPG's...but its unfortunate cause this game seems and looks really fun.
